What is the dining atmosphere like near Hoegi Station?
While looking for a filling meal near Hoegi Station, I visited 1986 Shibuya Burger (1986시부야버거) near Kyung Hee University. The restaurant’s Japan-inspired atmosphere stayed with me. Prices and visitor information in this article are current as of Aug 2026.

The warm lighting and gentle music made the space comfortable. I felt it would suit a solo meal, lunch or dinner with friends, or a meal during a date.

What did I order, and how much did it cost?
The menu ranged from standard handcrafted burgers to burgers with squid-ink buns or teppan-melted cheese. I chose one shrimp burger, one beef cheese burger, and a cheese bar to share.
- Kuro Sakura Shrimp Burger: ₩14,700
- Shibuya Teppan Nobiru Cheese Burger: ₩18,900
- Whole Mozzarella Cheese Bar: ₩3,000

How did the self-service bar and potato chip refills work?
At the self-service corner, I could help myself to various sauces and basic accompaniments.

It was fun to change the flavor of the burgers with different sauces. A refresh kit with wet wipes, tissues, hand sanitizer, and other items was also available.

After the meal, the “Shibuya Small Gift” corner had treats such as candy and vitamin C. It was convenient to pick up what I needed during the meal.

At the time of my visit, ordering a burger came with unlimited potato chip refills. I took as much as I wanted from the self-service bar; the warm chips were lightly seasoned and nutty. I ate them without much expectation, but their flavor stayed with me.

What did the Kuro Sakura Shrimp Burger taste like?
The Kuro Sakura Shrimp Burger is made with a 100% shrimp patty between squid-ink buns.

With the first bite, I noticed the springy shrimp texture and savory seafood flavor. Rather than feeling completely ground up, the shrimp retained a pleasant bite and went well with the soft bun. A spicy house sauce complemented the mild, nutty shrimp flavor without making it heavy.

How were the salad swap and Whole Mozzarella Cheese Bar?
I changed the fries served with the shrimp burger to a ricotta cheese salad. When I visited, I could make the switch at no additional cost, and the vegetables seemed fresh.

The Whole Mozzarella Cheese Bar had a crisp, nutty coating. Its gently salty flavor went well with the cheese inside, making it one of my favorite sides we ordered.

How did the teppan cheese burger differ from the shrimp burger?
The other burger we ordered was a teppan cheese burger, finished by melting cheese on an iron griddle. It had a thick beef patty with a generous amount of cheese.

The nutty richness of the juicy beef patty layered with sweet onion aroma and cheese, making it rich and substantial.

I expected the generous cheese to feel heavy, but the sweet onion sauce worked well for me and kept me reaching for another bite. The shrimp burger centered on a springy texture and spicy sauce, while the teppan cheese burger centered on the deep flavors of meat and cheese.

I changed the fries with the teppan cheese burger to potato wedges. I think they would suit anyone who likes thick-cut potatoes.
If choosing one, I would suggest the Kuro Sakura Shrimp Burger for anyone who likes shrimp texture and spicy flavors, and the teppan cheese burger for those who prefer a rich beef-and-cheese combination. Alternating between the two made their differences especially clear and enjoyable.
