Italian dining in Jeonpo, Busan: garlic confit aglio e olio, Brassway

In short

Brassway Seomyeon Jeonpo is a small Italian restaurant in an alley near Jeonpo Station in Busan, where a Le Cordon Bleu-trained head chef serves Italian home-style cooking. The writer booked through Naver Reservation, got a table on a fully booked day, and paid for garlic confit aglio e olio, triple cheese arugula pizza and plum hibiscus ade. Verdict: Brassway's oil pasta is clean rather than heavy, and the writer is 100% planning to return.

I hadn't had good Western food in a while, so I went looking for brunch cafés in Jeonpo, Busan, and found a lovely pasta place hidden in an alley: Brassway.

Where is Brassway in Jeonpo, and what is the atmosphere like?

Mint-colored Brassway building in a Jeonpo alley

Brassway is a mint-colored building you'll see if you walk from Exit 7 of Jeonpo Station into the alley by the former Ijaemo Pizza. Being mint, it's easy to spot.

Brassway is a small dining restaurant serving an Italian home-style meal, and the special vibe from the entrance alone naturally pulls you in, doesn't it?

Cozy indoor seating at Brassway

Inside, it has a cozy yet delicate wood-tone feel, just right for a Jeonpo Western restaurant. I booked ahead on Naver Reservation, so I could get a seat even though it was full. Phew!

I looked into why this hidden alley spot is so popular, and apparently it's because you get to taste food made by the owner, a head chef from Le Cordon Bleu, one of the world's three great culinary schools, who also gained experience in several hotels.

When I sat at the reserved table, the table setting was lovely, and best of all there was even a mini fan in case we got hot. The owner's thoughtfulness really touched me.

There's a short note on the table for every guest who visits, so it's worth reading. I love a place with a story like this.

You can order freely with the QR code at each seat.

Hanging and mini plants at Brassway

As a beginner plant parent, I look for plants wherever I go, and from hanging plants to tiny ones, this nice Jeonpo brunch restaurant is so lovely, isn't it?

The open kitchen makes it even more trustworthy, and Brassway is a place that feels good to visit anytime. Personally, the owner is so kind that I'm 100% coming back for a group gathering.

What did we order at Brassway Seomyeon Jeonpo?

Table set with aglio e olio, pizza and ade

We ordered aglio e olio, pizza and plum ade at Brassway. These days many places use a Le Cordon Bleu head chef's name and then disappoint, but one bite and you can tell this place is the real deal.

Brassway plum hibiscus ade

How does the plum hibiscus ade taste?

The plum hibiscus ade is refreshing and tangy. Brassway has something special that made us, normally zero-cola people, turn around. Is it okay for an ade to taste this good?

They also sell wine by the glass to go with Western food, so I recommend it as a Seomyeon-area favorite you'll be happy with at lunch or dinner.

Brassway garlic confit aglio e olio

What does Brassway's garlic confit aglio e olio taste like?

The garlic confit aglio e olio is said to be a pasta finished with deep flavor after dozens of recipe overhauls, and you really must try it.

I tried it with a little lemon juice, and it felt like eating a dish where deep flavor was added to the classic aglio e olio taste, so I absolutely recommend it to anyone who usually likes aglio e olio.

Oil pasta can sometimes leave you feeling bloated, but Brassway's aglio e olio was definitely clean and refreshing, so the head chef from a top-three culinary school gets my approval (who am I to say that, lol).

Triple cheese arugula pizza at Brassway

I had been thinking about risotto, but the menu had a triple cheese arugula pizza, so I chose it without a second thought.

The moment we took a bite, we looked at each other and said "this is crazy" a hundred times. The pasta and pizza are both delicious, so how good must the Italian home-style risotto be?

Is Brassway in Jeonpo worth a return visit?

Brassway left me so satisfied, for the first time in a while, that I want to try every other dish. As a Busan brunch favorite I paid for myself, I fully recommend a return visit.
