I visited Shabu20 Daegu Bokhyeon branch with my child for a weekday dinner. We had shabu-shabu and Vietnamese spring rolls along with dishes from the self-service bar, and draft beer was also available all-you-can-eat.

Was parking and dining with a child convenient?

The restaurant is on the first floor at 79 Gonghang-ro, Buk-gu, Daegu. There was plenty of parking in front of the restaurant, so parking was easy. We visited for weekday dinner, and a notice said children under 36 months could dine for free.

The high ceiling made the space feel pleasant. Even though we arrived before the main dinner rush, many guests were already eating.

Children's tableware, disposable bibs, and a phone stand were available, which helped when dining with my child. Disposable floss picks and hair ties were also set out near the restroom entrance.

What shabu-shabu and Vietnamese spring roll ingredients are available?

The self-service bar had a wide range of vegetables for shabu-shabu. After trying them, the vegetables felt fresh.

The meat section had beef and pork, and I could take as much of both as I wanted. Shabu-shabu with pork was good too.

I could make Vietnamese spring rolls with the shabu-shabu meat and vegetables. There were several sauces to go with them, as well as ingredients for making juk (rice porridge) after the shabu-shabu.

Are draft beer and self-bar dishes all-you-can-eat too?

During my visit, draft beer was available all-you-can-eat too. I poured it myself from a self-service machine.

I also helped myself freely to the self-bar dishes. The soy sauce dakgangjeong (sweet crispy chicken) and fried dakgangjeong were boneless, so they were easy to eat.

There was fried rice and takoyaki as well. When dishes were replenished, I could see guests quickly taking them.

I also enjoyed the pad thai and cream pasta. With salad, seasoned acorn jelly, and a dessert section, there were many choices beyond shabu-shabu.

The dessert section had soft-serve ice cream, along with coffee and drinks.

Which broths did we choose with a child?

To eat with my child, I chose two broths without spice. I also brought back plenty of shabu-shabu meat and vegetables for the Vietnamese spring rolls.

Along with meat and vegetables, there were fish cakes, tofu, and dumplings, so it was nice to add a little of everything. Of the ingredients, I especially liked the fresh vegetables.

I filled the Vietnamese spring rolls with plenty of meat and vegetables. Being able to take as much meat as I wanted meant I could make them generously, and they paired well with draft beer.

What dessert did we have, and can it be taken out?

We finished the meal with ice cream. From shabu-shabu for my child to self-bar dishes and dessert, there was plenty to choose from, which made it a satisfying family meal out.

During my visit, not only coffee but ice cream could be taken out. I thought it would be nice to stop by for a meal before or after an outing to Isiapolis.
