Busan Station restaurant for families with luggage and kids: Yeongdong
In short
Yeongdong Milmyeon & Dwaeji Gukbap is a Korean restaurant on the 2nd floor of Busan Station in Dong-gu, Busan, serving milmyeon (chilled wheat noodles), dwaeji gukbap (pork rice soup) and mandu (dumplings) in one place. Visiting with a child, the writer ordered a large mul milmyeon, mandu and sundae gukbap, and found kids' tableware and space to park a suitcase, so eating with a carry-on was easy. Yeongdong Milmyeon & Dwaeji Gukbap suits families looking for a first meal after arriving in Busan or a last one before the train.

When it comes to food you can't skip on a Busan trip, it's got to be milmyeon (cold buckwheat noodles) and dwaeji gukbap (pork soup), right haha. This time I went with my kid to Yeongdong Milmyeon & Dwaeji Gukbap's Busan Station branch, a great spot for a meal near Busan Station.

It was a great place to stop by when starting a trip from Busan Station or wanting a taste of Busan before heading home. From milmyeon to gukbap to mandu, all the dishes you'd want to try at least once in Busan are gathered in one spot, so it worked well for a family visit.

What to order when sharing with a child
We ordered mul milmyeon, mandu, and sundae gukbap. Choosing a menu is always a bit of a dilemma when visiting with a child, so it was nice to have dishes like gukbap and mandu that are easy to share.

The basic side dishes came out neatly, and kids' tableware and sauces were well stocked.

How did the large mul milmyeon taste?
First, the mul milmyeon came out with a broth that looked refreshing just looking at it, and a generous portion of noodles. I ordered the large size — the broth had a slight film of ice, and one sip was tangy-sweet and cool, waking up my appetite right away. When I mixed in the seasoning well, the broth also picked up a spicy kick, so it stayed enjoyable to the last bite without getting tiring. The noodles were plump and chewy, so there was fun in slurping them up

too, and it seemed like the kind of dish that would properly refresh you on a hot day traveling in Busan. On days when dwaeji gukbap feels a bit heavy, choosing mul milmyeon instead would be satisfying too.

Milmyeon with a side of mandu
The mandu (dumplings) we had alongside the milmyeon paired well too. Served warm, the wrapper was soft and the filling was moist, so it was easy on my kid too. It's tasty on its own, but taking a bite of warm mandu while eating cool mul milmyeon made for a great contrast in both temperature and texture, so it was even tastier. If you feel like milmyeon alone is a bit lacking, I'd recommend pairing it with mandu.

Sundae gukbap a child and an adult can share
Sundae gukbap (blood sausage soup) was just right when we needed a filling meal. With sundae (blood sausage) and other ingredients in a hot broth, mixing in a bowl of rice properly filled up our stomachs, hungry from moving around all day while traveling.
The broth was savory and rich, the kind that keeps your spoon going, and it was nice being able to add seasoning to taste. If you scoop out broth and rice for your kid before adding the spicier seasoning, and let the adults eat it a bit spicier, the whole family can enjoy it together.
Why it's easy to visit with a child and a suitcase
Beyond the food, I also liked how easy it was to visit with a child and a carry-on. The store is on the 2nd floor, so at first I wondered if I'd have to carry my luggage up, but there was an escalator and an elevator, so getting around was easy. For anyone traveling with a child or with a carry-on, a small thing like this really feels huge.

There was also a space for storing luggage, so it was nice that the carry-on didn't clutter up the area around the table. Being able to leave your bag neatly on the side and eat comfortably made the whole store feel more pleasant. It felt like a space designed with a lot of thought for travelers passing through Busan Station.

When is the best time to go?
It's a great place to visit right when you arrive in Busan and want to start your trip with a representative Busan dish, or when you want one more taste of Busan before catching the train. It's also nice that there's no need to fuss over the menu when one person wants milmyeon and the other wants hot gukbap.
With cool, chewy mul milmyeon, warm mandu on the side, and a filling bowl of sundae gukbap, I felt like I properly enjoyed all the dishes I wanted to try in Busan in one meal. It was easy to visit with my kid, and eating with a carry-on wasn't a hassle either, so it's a great fit for anyone looking for a place to eat before or after traveling near Busan Station.
If you're craving a proper taste of Busan at Busan Station, I'd recommend enjoying milmyeon and gukbap together at Yeongdong Milmyeon & Dwaeji Gukbap Busan Station branch. It was a meal that was filling at the start of the trip, and a good way to take one more taste of Busan home at the end.
