Euljiro 3-ga weekday bone grill pub, Cass draft beer: Eulji Baektan

My husband and I wanted dinner and a drink together, so we headed to Eulji Baektan Ppyeogui (을지백탄뼈구이), a pub in Euljiro. If you're Korean and love spicy, tasty food, there's no way you won't like this place T_T The meat is so tender it melts in your mouth. Let me start the full review.

Where is Eulji Baektan Ppyeogui, and what are the hours?

The address is 110-2 Euljiro, right by Euljiro 3-ga Station. Come out of the exit and glance to the right and you'll spot it, so it's perfect for a quick drink on the way home, ha.

It's open Sunday to Thursday from 11am to midnight, and until 2am on Fridays and Saturdays. You can come for lunch too.

How long is the wait at 7pm on a weekday?

We got to Eulji Baektan Ppyeogui around 7pm on a weekday. One party was ahead of us, and we only waited about 5 minutes. My husband ran over straight from work, and I think people who started eating around 6pm were leaving one after another, so we got in quickly, yay!

Hip Euljiro (Hipjiro) vibes

The moment we walked in I was amazed by the Hipjiro (hip Euljiro) feel. It's an atmosphere people of all ages would enjoy, hehe.

Sure enough, groups of all ages were gathered for drinks! I'd highly recommend this Euljiro pub for company dinners and get-togethers. It's great for a date too, like us, hehe.

There's a staircase up to the 2nd floor, but we were shown to the 1st floor.

Eulji Baektan Ppyeogui menu and prices

The bone grill (ppyeogui, grilled pork bones with meat) is ₩38,000 for small, ₩45,000 for medium and ₩52,000 for large. They also have grilled cuttlefish, fritters and gamjatang (pork bone stew), and the lunch specials include bone hangover soup, bibimbap, janchi guksu (banquet noodles) and more.

A seat where you can watch the cooking, and the excited wait

The table we were given happened to have a view of the cooking, so watching was part of the fun, haha. An excited kind of waiting, you could say..!

I happened to take this when it was calm, but at times the flames suddenly whoosh up! No wonder it tastes smoky, I thought, hehe.

How spicy is level 2 on the bone grill?

Even with lots of customers, we didn't wait as long as expected before today's star, the bone grill, arrived! (Note that the rice ball was finished before the bone grill came out and was brought over later, haha.)

You can choose the spice level here. We picked level 2, a little spicier than Shin Ramyun, and it's just right, a delicious kind of spicy. (If you can't handle spice at all, definitely go for level 1!)

It comes with grilled scallions too, and if you snip them with scissors and eat them together, they go together so well.

I wanted to show you how tender it is, so I recorded a video T_T It truly melts in your mouth. Even watching this video, I keep daydreaming about eating it... (it's only been a few days, lol)

While I was busy filming, my husband snipped the scallions into pieces for me. After cutting them to a good bite size,

he popped them into my mouth together with the bone grill, and that's a perfect end to the day. It's a great Euljiro restaurant and pub for an evening with a drink...^.^ (a sip of beer, mmm~)

You shape the rice ball yourself

For the rice ball (₩5,000) they give you a plastic glove, and you put it on and shape it into little rounds yourself. It can be hot right when it arrives, so be careful :) A spicy main dish needs a good rice ball.

Between bites of the spicy bone grill, I take a bite of the sweet rice ball. Since everything we ordered was so good, I bet the potato pancake is amazing too. I definitely want to try it next time, hehe.

While we were enjoying the cold draft beer, a film shoot started setting up behind us with fancy lighting..?! It looked like a mukbang (eating show) shoot (we'd finished before they came, so I didn't see who it was). I figured, yeah, this is a restaurant worth filming, lol.

Of course the banchan (side dishes) were good too, and we happily ate them with the main dish.
