Today's post is a review of Gim Sukseong Seongnae Branch (김숙성 성내점), a Cheonho-dong restaurant that's become a hotspot for outdoor seating near Cheonho Station!

Where is Gim Sukseong Seongnae Branch, and what are the terrace tables like?
Gim Sukseong Seongnae Branch is a 5-minute walk from Exit 6 of Cheonho Station, so it's really easy to get to!

Inside, the place is clean and cozy with a retro interior — total old-school pub / old-school BBQ joint vibes. The seating is spacious and plentiful, so it's great for group dinners or gatherings. There's also an outdoor terrace, perfect if you're looking for outdoor BBQ seating near Cheonho Station!
These days it's cooler out, so the outdoor seats are popular — you have to time it right haha. The street isn't noisy and the atmosphere is just right, which I think is why it's become a hotspot near Cheonho Station! Since the weather's cool lately they keep the doors wide open, so even if you don't get the outdoor seats, you can still enjoy that same outdoor feel from inside — just so you know!

Gim Sukseong Seongnae Branch menu: 20-day, 480-hour aged meat and no corkage fee
The menu. Gim Sukseong Seongnae Branch specializes in meat aged 20 days for 480 hours, so you get properly, deliciously aged pork belly, teukmokssal, gabrisal, and grade 1++ hand-cut chadol! There's also a special set that lets you enjoy the aged meat in several ways at a good price, plus a variety of side dishes like chadol doenjang sulbap, perilla oil green onion noodles, minari bibim noodles, cold noodles, chadol doenjang jjigae, Korean pork kimchi jjigae, truffle jjagechi, bomb cheese egg steam, crab ramyeon, and corn cheese, so you can mix things up alongside the meat! It's also corkage-free, so you can bring your favorite wine or whiskey to enjoy.

The banchan spread, including free soy-marinated crab
After ordering, they set the table full of all kinds of side dishes… 🖤 lettuce wraps, old kimchi, green onion kimchi, various sauces, minari, mushrooms, wild garlic leaves, and even soy-marinated crab! A BBQ place that gives you soy crab as a side is the best… 🖤

What does the aged grade 1++ hand-cut chadol taste like?
We ordered the grade 1++ hand-cut chadol first! It's supposedly aged hanwoo (Korean beef) chadol, and since I'd never had aged brisket before, I was curious how it'd be!

They gave us a huge, huge pile of minari to grill alongside it 🖤

And right onto the grill went the chadol! Since chadol is thin, cook it quickly!

Look at how juicy it is… 🖤 The hand-cut chadol here is thicker than at other places, so it had this interesting chew to it!

Thick pork belly, grilled for you by the staff
Next we ordered the pork belly, and it was completely thick-cut with a great meat-to-fat ratio 🖤

Bongbong grilled it deliciously for us >_< For reference, at Gim Sukseong Seongnae Branch, the staff grill all the meat themselves, so it's a comfortable place to eat even if you're not great at grilling! They said they always grill it at the perfect timing, so if you're looking for a Korean BBQ place near Cheonho Station where the staff grills for you, I'd recommend this one! We told them we'd grill it ourselves since Bongbong loves grilling haha.

The pork belly was so savory and delicious — the second you bite in, the juices burst out, packed with savory flavor 🖤

Eating it together with fragrant minari is pure bliss… 🖤

Grilling it with kimchi to make kimchi pork belly is also amazing!
