Jeju galbi restaurant, one-plate Set B for five: Woljeongri Galbibap

Jeju has so many gorgeous stretches of coastline, and Woljeong-ri Beach is a great spot for both splashing around with kids and just taking a walk. Following up on last year's visit, we went back to Woljeong-ri Beach again this time. So I wanted to write up our meal at "Woljeongri Galbibap," a well-known restaurant near Woljeong-ri Beach :)

Where is Woljeongri Galbibap, and what about parking and hours?

Woljeongri Galbibap is a charcoal-grilled galbi restaurant on Woljeong7-gil in Gujwa, Jeju. There's parking for a few cars in front of the restaurant, and otherwise you can use the public parking lot.

We went past the lunch peak time, so luckily we didn't need a Catch Table reservation and could just walk in. Once you're inside, you order at the front and they seat you according to your party size.

What comes with Set B at 22,000 won, ordered for four

We ordered Set B for four people at ₩22,000. It comes with charcoal-grilled marinated galbi, abalone butter grill, seafood pancake and 8 side dishes, rice and soup of the day, and seasoned crab — we ordered the grilled galbi half and half :)

What is the seating like at Woljeongri Galbibap?

Everywhere had diners eating, so I only managed to snap bits and pieces. There are group tables, mostly 4-seater tables, and even bar-style seating for solo diners ✔️

The self-bar and what's stocked for guests

At the self-bar you can freely grab extra side dishes and vegetables. The regular side dishes come out in small portions, so if you want more, just go to the self-bar corner and help yourself.

They even have aprons, scissors and tongs, wet wipes, and phone stands ready if you need them.

Meal donations for children and the serving robot

Woljeongri Galbibap donates the most to hungry children among restaurants ✨️ Out of roughly 19,000 restaurants in Jeju, this is the one donating the most, and they've been doing it since the height of COVID, which really makes me think — this owner gets it. What a class act 〰️😍

Once you order, a robot brings the food to your table 〰️〰️🤖

Four adults and a baby, all plated on one dish

I really loved the plating here. We were 4 adults and 1 baby, and they served everything on one big dish. Total visual win 〰️〰️🤤 We could've grabbed more side dishes from the self-bar, but the meat portion was already so generous that we left lunch nice and full.

Seafood pancake and galbi half soy sauce, half spicy

The pancake was crispy and perfectly seasoned! We figured soy sauce alone might get a bit heavy, so we ordered half spicy too — but sure enough, as a spice wimp, I kept reaching for the soy sauce one 😂

The seasoned crab was pretty tasty too, and the abalone with its garlic-butter combo was good enough that we each happily got one to split.

Up to what age is the free kids' meal?

Woljeongri Galbibap offers a free kids' meal, or kids' donburi, from 24 months up through 2nd grade. That means free black pork galbi rice. Whenever we go out with our baby, we're always scanning the menu for something she can eat, so having a free kids' donburi option here is really great! Our picky 33-month-old, who seemed to notice the strong charcoal smoke smell, didn't want to eat the meat because it was too spicy for her, so she mixed it with the soy-braised egg instead and finished the whole meal 〰️
