Busan Station gukbap restaurant: pork soup three ways at a bar seat
In short
Yeongdong Milmyeon & Dwaeji Gukbap Busan Station Branch is a dwaeji gukbap (pork soup) and milmyeon (cold buckwheat noodle) restaurant on the 2nd floor of Asti Hotel, 309 meters from Busan Station Exit 6. A Busan native ordered one bowl of dwaeji gukbap and tasted it in three stages — the milky broth plain, then with dadegi (chili paste) and salted shrimp, then with chives and the rice stirred in — and the restaurant keeps separate bar seats where a solo traveler with a suitcase can eat comfortably. Yeongdong Milmyeon & Dwaeji Gukbap is worth a stop for a first meal after arriving in Busan or a last meal before the KTX.

Why dwaeji gukbap is the first meal to eat in Busan
There's always one dish you feel like you have to eat at least once when you visit Busan…! It's dwaeji gukbap (pork soup), right !?🐷🍚

As a Busan local, I'm kind of picky when it comes to eating gukbap in Busan, haha. For Busan people, dwaeji gukbap isn't just a meal — it's something you grew up eating so much that you can't help but get serious about the taste 🤭

Especially when friends from other regions visit Busan, they always go 'we're in Busan, we gotta eat pork soup!' and ask me to recommend a good spot, and every time I end up thinking hard about where to take them, haha.

Where Yeongdong Milmyeon & Dwaeji Gukbap Busan Station Branch is, and its hours
This time I visited Yeongdong Milmyeon & Dwaeji Gukbap Busan Station Branch, right in front of Busan Station✨ I was looking for somewhere to eat near Busan Station and the location here was so convenient !!!!!!

It's very close to Busan Station, plus there are bar seats that are great for eating alone, and it's easy to visit even while dragging a carry-on, so I'd recommend it to anyone traveling in Busan 👍🏻

Especially if it's your first time in Busan, dragging a carry-on far after arriving at Busan Station is rough 🥹 so I thought it'd be perfect to just have a hearty bowl of gukbap near the station before starting your trip~~💗
Arrive at Busan Station → drag your carry-on → one bowl of pork soup → start your Busan trip!
You could plan your trip this way at the start…! Or the opposite on your last day in Busan too — 'check out → head to Busan Station → one bowl of gukbap → board the KTX 🚆' — that kind of schedule works great too :)

Bar seats for solo diners, tables for groups
Walking into Yeongdong Milmyeon & Dwaeji Gukbap Busan Station Branch, there are regular table seats along with bar seats that are great for solo diners 😆

So whether you're dining solo or with a group, everyone can sit wherever's comfortable 👍🏻
What especially caught my eye was the bar seating! When you're eating alone at a table, sometimes you can't help but feel a bit self-conscious ㅠㅠ
But with bar seats, it's so much more comfortable to come alone and enjoy a bowl of gukbap 😉

Given Busan Station's nature, there must be a lot of solo travelers and business trippers passing through, so this is great news for anyone wondering 'where's a good Busan Station restaurant for eating alone?' 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻

Side dishes and what's on the table
I ordered the dwaeji gukbap this time! 🐷🍚 After ordering, the side dishes come out one by one.

And on the table, everything's ready for the milmyeon too — mustard and vinegar, along with dadegi (chili paste) and salted shrimp ✨ You don't even have to ask, you can just season it to your own taste right away, which was convenient haha!

How to eat the pork soup: broth first, then dadegi and salted shrimp, then chives and rice
After a short wait, the hot pork soup finally arrived~~🐷🍚 gukbap really does taste best served piping hot like this, haha

Seeing the steam rise off the gukbap made me want to dig in right away 🥹💗 Maybe it's because I'm from Busan, but a steaming bowl of pork soup like this just makes my heart feel full haha

I have my own order for eating dwaeji gukbap :) First, I savor the plain, milky broth as is, with nothing added ♨️ I like tasting the clean broth flavor first! (ah, this is the good stuff 😉)

Next, I add dadegi and salted shrimp for a totally different flavor! 🌶️ Gukbap really is fun because you get to season it exactly how you like.

The third method is my favorite 💗 loading it up with chives and mixing in the rice! 🌿🍚
Was the bowl worth finishing? Final verdict
On this trip to Busan, I stopped by Yeongdong Milmyeon & Dwaeji Gukbap Busan Station Branch and had a hearty, hot bowl of pork soup~~🐷🍚💗

Bowl completely finished ✨ Even as a Busan native, finishing a hearty bowl of gukbap after a while put me in a great mood for the rest of the day, haha. There's really no resisting gukbap in Busan…🐷🍚
