Gukbap and milmyeon in one meal near Busan Station

Bottom line up front: if you want both gukbap and milmyeon, this is the perfect place to get it all done in one spot!

Menu and prices at Yeongdong Milmyeon & Dwaeji Gukbap

The nice thing is you can eat hot soup and milmyeon at the same time, so even if you and your dining companions don't agree on food temperature, you can still eat together at the same place! I ordered sundae gukbap, dwaeji gukbap, and a large water milmyeon haha. Quite the varied order, right?

What side dishes come with the meal?
The basic side dishes at Yeongdong Milmyeon & Dwaeji Gukbap — diced radish kimchi, cabbage kimchi, onion/chili/garlic, and doenjang (soybean paste) — are neatly arranged and served in just the right amount. The chives that go into the soup come out separately too, so you can add as much as you like~

A must for gukbap! They also give you dadaegi (chili paste) and saeujeot (salted shrimp), perfect to pair with the meat haha.

What we ordered

Sundae gukbap, 10,000 won: a filling bowl with meat sundae

The broth wasn't intensely strong from the first sip — instead it had a clean, savory, mild pork-broth flavor that stood out~

The broth comes out milky white and filled to the brim in the ttukbaegi (stone bowl), with plenty of sundae and meat inside. It's not just sundae — there's meat mixed in too, so the portion is heartier than expected!

Since it's meat sundae rather than plain glass-noodle sundae, it felt like extra care went into it~ Both the texture and the rich meaty flavor made the meal feel even more filling haha.

Dwaeji gukbap, 10,000 won: barely any pork smell, lightly seasoned

Dwaeji gukbap can sometimes be polarizing because of that distinct gamey smell, but here there was almost none of it, which was great. I tried the broth plain first without adding anything, and the seasoning wasn't too strong, which actually suited my taste.

I loved how tender the meat was! Instead of that dry, chewy lean-meat texture, it went down easily when eaten together with rice.

Mul milmyeon (large), 9,000 won: a bigger portion than expected
Water milmyeon, large size, ₩9,000. At first I thought, how big could the large size really be — but once it arrived, the portion was actually pretty substantial haha.

Ordering gukbap on top made for a seriously generous spread, but hey — since I made it all the way to Busan, I couldn't skip milmyeon, right?! Having one hot gukbap plus a cool milmyeon together turned out to be a great menu combo after all~~

Slurping it down, I loved the chewy bite of the noodles haha. The broth was sweetish and refreshing with a slight tang at the finish, so taking a bite between spoonfuls of gukbap cleaned my palate right up~

The pickled radish served alongside also paired well with the milmyeon~ Eating the tangy, crunchy radish together with the noodles gave one more round of refreshment!

Verdict: how does the gukbap and milmyeon combo work?
A good place to stop by for a hot bowl of gukbap as your first meal in Busan, or for one more taste of Busan food right before catching your train!
Ordering all three together this time, what struck me was that the gukbap + milmyeon combo works better than you'd expect haha. Gukbap is warm and savory, milmyeon is cold and tangy-sweet. So after a few spoonfuls of gukbap, taking a bite of milmyeon cleans up your palate — it's kind of addictive haha. Being able to eat both dishes in one place was the biggest upside!
