Busan Station pork soup with multilingual tablet ordering: Yeongdong

Looking for somewhere to eat dwaeji gukbap (pork soup) near Busan Station, I ended up at the clean, tidy Yeongdong Milmyeon & Dwaeji Gukbap.

Since I was in Busan, I felt like I had to eat pork soup at least once, and I looked around for somewhere clean and comfortable rather than one of those old-feeling, ancient-looking joints.

If you're looking for a place to eat near Busan Station, the location is pretty convenient too, good for stopping by during your trip.

The restaurant was spacious and the seats were super clean, so I was satisfied!!

Yeongdong Milmyeon & Dwaeji Gukbap had a fairly relaxed atmosphere for eating near Busan Station. When you look for a gukbap (soup with rice) spot near Busan Station, the famous ones often have a wait or are packed with people, but here I didn't feel that pressure.

But judging by the number of celebrity autographs on the walls, its status as a famous local spot seems pretty much guaranteed!!

Tablet ordering with a language button for foreign menus

This time I ordered one dwaeji gukbap, one suyuk baekban (boiled pork set), and a large mul milmyeon (cold noodles in broth)~!!

There was a tablet at every table, so ordering was easy.

There was even a language button — press it and the menu shows up in other languages, so a lot of foreign tourists seemed to come here too.

Since there were two of us, I first thought about just getting one gukbap each, but I was curious about the suyuk baekban too, and since I was in Busan I wanted to try milmyeon as well, so I ended up ordering a bunch of stuff haha

After ordering, the basic side dishes came out first.

Just like the clean restaurant itself, every side dish came out neat and tidy, which got my appetite going before the food even arrived~!

We also ordered a Pepsi Zero! I like Pepsi Lime Zero the best. It goes well with both the rice and the meat~

How clean is the dwaeji gukbap broth?

The dwaeji gukbap at Yeongdong Milmyeon & Dwaeji Gukbap was a classic Busan-style pork soup, milky broth with meat in it.

The broth was cleaner than I expected, so I think even people who are sensitive to the strong smell or scent that pork soup can have would be able to eat it fairly comfortably.

When I eat pork soup, if the broth is too greasy or has a strong off smell, I have a bit of a hard time, but it wasn't too strong here, so it was fine.

Adding the suyuk baekban set

The suyuk baekban is delicious in a different way from the pork soup.

You can eat the suyuk (boiled pork) on its own alongside rice, which has a different charm from the soup👍🏻

With dwaeji gukbap, the meat comes already in the soup, but with suyuk baekban the broth and meat come separately, which has the advantage of letting you enjoy the meat a bit more properly!

If you're visiting with a group, rather than ordering several bowls of gukbap, adding one suyuk baekban to share seems like a good option.

The meat was soft, moist, had no off smell, and was really tasty! When you're on a Busan trip and feel like you should eat pork soup but a single bowl alone feels like a shame, ordering this way lets you try a bit of everything, which was nice.

And since I was in Busan, I couldn't skip milmyeon, so I ordered the mul milmyeon too.

I usually plan to order one milmyeon as a side to share, but the price difference wasn't that big, so we went with the large size lol

With the noodles sitting in cold broth, going back and forth between the hot pork soup and the milmyeon in between made for a pretty good combo.

Especially after eating gukbap, your mouth can start to feel a bit heavy, but the cool taste of the milmyeon in between cut through the richness and made it easy to eat all the way to the end.

If going to separate restaurants for pork soup and milmyeon on your Busan trip feels like too much hassle, ordering both together at one place seems like a good option.

Clean flavors and a clean dining room: the verdict

Yeongdong Milmyeon & Dwaeji Gukbap had a clean atmosphere overall, which made it comfortable to eat at during a trip.

When you need to grab a meal near Busan Station, your travel route matters, right?? If you're looking for somewhere close to Busan Station where you can eat pork soup and milmyeon together, I'd recommend this place👍🏻

This time we ordered dwaeji gukbap, suyuk baekban, and a large mul milmyeon, trying quite a variety, and since the two of us split several dishes, we actually got to taste a range of Busan food in one go, which was great.

Especially if you're going with someone trying pork soup for the first time, a place with a cleaner-tasting broth like this, rather than something too rich, seems like it would be more comfortable.

It also seems like a good option whether you're getting off at Busan Station and starting your trip with a meal, or looking for something filling to eat before catching the train on your last day in Busan.

If you're like me and want to eat both pork soup and milmyeon, try splitting the order between the two.

The combo of one dwaeji gukbap, one suyuk baekban, and a large mul milmyeon turned out to be more filling than expected, and let us knock out the dishes we wanted to try in Busan all in one sitting🔆👍🏻
