Songjeong café for surf watching from the 4th floor: Suwolgyeonghwa

Songjeong café Suwolgyeonghwa 💙 A day falling for the sea, the music, and the Dalbodeure box. I finally made it to a café I'd been wanting to visit whenever I came to Songjeong, Busan — Suwolgyeonghwa.

I thought there was nothing to do here but surf, but it turns out this place is famous as an aesthetic café, so I went — and I genuinely, strongly recommend it. It's a tea house full of atmosphere where you can enjoy a cup of tea while looking out at Songjeong beach.

What the 4th-floor window wall at Suwolgyeonghwa looks out on: surfers and the beach train

Suwolgyeonghwa is a café where the entire floor-to-ceiling window on the 4th floor faces Songjeong beach. The moment I opened the door, the first thing I saw was Songjeong beach! The weather was nice, so there were a lot of surfers out — watching them was so much fun.

The sea unfolding beyond the windows, plus the gentle music playing — just sitting there put me in a good mood. Watching the beach train go by outside gave it a slightly Japanese feel, and a really relaxed vibe overall.

There are plenty of pretty ocean-view cafés out there, but this place feels like the music completes the mood too. Not just pleasant background music — it had a distinctly Korean feel, which I loved even more. Kind of like meditation music. I think it'd be really nice for the whole family to visit.

It felt like the kind of place I'd think of whenever I wanted to relax and unwind looking out at the sea.

I usually drink coffee, but today I wanted to experience Suwolgyeonghwa's own sensibility, so I ordered traditional tea and dessert instead.

Today's star was Suwolgyeonghwa's Dalbodeure box! The moment it arrived, it was so pretty I gasped. Cute, neatly arranged desserts — a reinterpretation of Korean-style sweets. I was amazed at how they packed so much sensibility into something so pretty. It felt like receiving a little gift box.

It was really charming to be able to enjoy Korean desserts in such a stylish way. Photos taken against the sea backdrop looked full of atmosphere without any effort at all. If you love pretty things, you'd really love this. 💙

Melong Mance and ssanghwacha: the cup with an egg yolk in it

We also ordered the Melong Mance and ssanghwacha together. It was a different kind of leisurely enjoyment from the coffee I usually drink.

I have such old-fashioned taste ("grandma taste," haha), so I chose the ssanghwacha, and I think it was a really good choice.

Drinking ssanghwacha while looking out at the sea somehow felt even more special. It was warm and felt like it was doing me good. There was a lot inside, and there was definitely an egg yolk in there too. Amazing. I lost track of time enjoying the pretty desserts and tea little by little.

Why this Songjeong tea café feels so different

This visit to Suwolgyeonghwa was more than just a café trip. The sea, the music, the pretty desserts and tea — everything blended together naturally into a space I think I'll remember for a long time. There are lots of good restaurants nearby too, and it's a genuine hot spot.

The sea, the desserts, and the teas were almost too pretty to drink — like a painting.

I genuinely, strongly recommend the ssanghwacha for anyone with old-fashioned taste.

Worth knowing: the 3rd-floor seats at Suwolgyeonghwa

You order on the 4th floor at Suwolgyeonghwa, but there are also seats on the 3rd floor. Many of the 3rd floor seats are quiet with great views, so keep that in mind.
