Songjeong jjamppong restaurant, no-wait quiet hour: Songjeong Dol

In short

Songjeong Dol Jjamppong is a stone-plate jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup) restaurant in Songjeong, Haeundae, Busan. Arriving at a quiet hour meant walking straight in with no wait, and the order was whole squid stone-plate jjamppong for two (spice level 1, about as spicy as Shin Ramyun) plus a green grape ade, finished by scraping the scorched rice off the bottom of the stone plate. With a free parking lot, kids' chairs and a self-service corner, Songjeong Dol Jjamppong works well for a family meal or a date near Songjeong Beach.

Whole squid stone-plate jjamppong for two and a green grape ade

What we ordered was whole squid stone-plate jjamppong for two (spice level 1: about as spicy as Shin Ramyun) and a green grape ade haha

The basic side dishes, pickled radish and onion~

The fizzy carbonation and the fresh, cool taste of green grape came through really well — this ade was so good!! 🍇

Finally, the main dish, whole squid stone-plate jjamppong, arrived!! 🦑🍜 Just looking at it, it seemed so delicious 🤤 The smell alone had me drooling before I even took a bite~

Whole squid stone-plate jjamppong for two served on the stone plate

The jjamppong was piled high with bean sprouts><

Even though it's for two people, the portion was huge, and it looked even more delicious with big chunks of whole squid, plump shrimp, mushrooms, onion, bean sprouts, and more mixed in~

The jjamppong was bubbling away on the stone plate ‼️ Eating it off the stone plate meant it didn't cool down quickly and stayed hot for a long time, which I loved~

How spicy is spice level 1 at Songjeong Dol Jjamppong?

I scooped some into my small plate and took a bite... honestly, an amazing taste!! The spice level was about like Shin Ramyun, so it was just spicy enough and delicious, and I loved the chewy texture of the noodles!!

And eating the fresh seafood — the whole squid and shrimp — along with it made it even more delicious ㅠㅠ😋 There were plenty of vegetables too, so I could eat a hearty amount without getting tired of it 👍🏻 The broth was rich yet clean-tasting too haha

Finishing with the scorched rice on the stone plate

At the end, you scrape up the scorched rice sitting under the jjamppong!! It was golden brown and crispy, so satisfying and delicious to eat haha Overall I was very happy with everything 🩷

After the meal, we each got a yogurt drink for dessert~ Don't forget to grab your yogurt too 💛
