Icheon Korean BBQ near Terme Den: 800g wagyu short rib at Yuksik Wang

Hi everyone 😊 I found a really good beef spot in Icheon and went there over the weekend haha. It's famous as a meat restaurant near Icheon Terminal and near Terme Den, so I was curious even before I went — and I really did eat my fill of amazing short rib lol. This is Yuksik Wang, near Icheon Terminal!! Let's get into the review ~~ 🫶🏻

Where is Yuksik Wang, and how far is it from Terme Den and parking?

Yuksik Wang is a meat restaurant located just a 2-minute walk from Icheon Terminal!! It also comes up a lot in searches for restaurants near Icheon's Terme Den, and it's about a 15-minute drive from there haha.

This is the exterior of Yuksik Wang!! It has "charcoal grill" written in big letters so you can tell right away it's a meat restaurant haha.

There's a public parking lot right in front of the restaurant, and you can also use the parking at Haneurae Korean Medicine Hospital and Grand Wedding Hall! Two hours free, so there was plenty of time to grill, eat, and head out haha.

What Yuksik Wang feels like on a Saturday evening

I visited on Saturday evening and the place was already packed? There must be a reason it's known as a top meat restaurant in downtown Icheon haha. It was also bigger than I expected ~~ the tables were spaced out generously so I could eat comfortably without worrying about the next table haha.

There's also a big TV, so it seemed like a great spot to watch a game while eating!!

What's on the menu at Yuksik Wang

The menu has both beef and pork, so you can pick depending on your mood!! True to its name (Yuksik Wang, or "Meat King"), there's really a wide variety of meat — I ordered the best-menu item, the seasoned wagyu short rib platter (800g)!!

Which side dishes come with the meal?

Here's the basic table setting!!😊 The side dishes are really varied and all looked delicious!! There were several dipping sauces for the meat too haha.

We got green onion salad, kimchi, wild garlic leaves, fresh kimchi, pickled onion, corn, and wasabi, and I loved that they had both lettuce and perilla leaves haha.

How the 800g seasoned wagyu short rib platter tastes

Once you order, they bring out the charcoal! Meat grilled over charcoal — need I say more ~~ I was already excited before even eating haha.

The seasoned short rib platter arrived haha. It's 800g and the portion was massive!!🫢

The seasoned short rib comes loaded with garlic, and they give you mushrooms, cheongyang peppers, and tomato as garnish!

The marinade had soaked deep into the meat, so the second it hit the fire the smell was seriously,,,🤤🤤

Short rib cooks relatively fast, but the wait was still hard lol..

Once it was fully grilled I tried it — the inside was tender, and being wagyu it was so juicy that it got better the more I chewed!!👍🏻 The seasoning wasn't too strong and was just sweet enough, so I could keep eating without getting sick of it haha.

I wrapped it up properly in lettuce and perilla leaf wraps too haha. The pickled onion went really well with the meat!!👍🏻

Why bibim naengmyeon is the classic pairing with seasoned short rib

Partway through I also ordered bibim naengmyeon (spicy cold noodles) haha. Seasoned short rib + bibim naengmyeon.. you know that's the golden rule, right?! lol

Eating it together with the green onion salad cut through the richness too, and it was absolutely the best!!👍🏻 When you get seasoned short rib, definitely order bibim naengmyeon alongside it..!!
