In short

Deli Donkatsu is an old-school Western-style pork cutlet (donkatsu) restaurant on Songjeong Jungang-ro, near Songjeong Beach in Haeundae, Busan. Parking was free on the weekend, and the handmade pork cutlet set costs 9,500 won with soup, bread, two refillable salads and a finishing coffee; the couple ordered the Western-style cutlet and the cheese cutlet, which pulled long strings of cheese under plenty of demi-glace sauce. Deli Donkatsu makes an easy, good-value date lunch in Songjeong that the writer would return to.

Hi everyone, it's Suseming, a foodie who's dead serious about cheese!

Today my boyfriend and I went out for a walk on Songjeong Beach and grabbed lunch nearby afterward. 。·͜·。 That's how I found a Western-style pork cutlet spot with easy weekend parking~

Let me give you the conclusion first: 100% would revisit!⋰˚☆ Here's my honest review♡ʾʾ

Deli Donkatsu parking and prices: free parking even on weekends

A place with free parking even on weekends, nice!

Inside Deli Donkatsu in Songjeong: atmosphere and seating

The interior was clean overall! The tables were especially big and wide — I asked the owner and they said groups come here a lot ꒰⍢꒱ ༘*

There were lots of windows inside so it felt airy, plus it's an open kitchen so I trusted the food even more. The country of origin labeling was thorough too!

There was a Naver review event going on! Chicken tender salad with beer would've been perfect... we drove so we couldn't drink ʕت̫͡ʔ but it's close to Songjeong Station Exit 1, so if you're traveling you could easily enjoy a drink here ☘︎

What we ordered at Deli Donkatsu: Western-style and cheese pork cutlet

The menu was packed — from the basic Western-style pork cutlet set to hot-plate Napolitan spaghetti, beef cutlet, fish cutlet, and cream kimchi fried rice. After much deliberation~ my boyfriend got the Western-style pork cutlet and I got the cheese pork cutlet!

He even styled his hair for our date today lol, a shot of him too

We're a pretty picky foodie couple, ꒰⍨꒱ ༘* and honestly I get mad if a cheese pork cutlet skimps on the cheese. Grrr ꒰⍩꒱

Basic table setting with utensils

Soup and bread before the cutlets

Cute little dinner rolls haha. Before the main dishes came out, we got a soft soup and bread rolls.

Ah, this flavor hits me right in the nostalgia..! The soup was Ottogi-style cream soup, so I sprinkled some pepper on it. Stomach warm-up complete... (gulp)

How does the giant pork cutlet taste? Plenty of demi-glace sauce

Finally, the final boss appears. The giant pork cutlet was massive, like it was about to burst off the plate!*・☪·̩͙

I hate it when the roof of my mouth gets scraped up, but there was plenty of demi-glace sauce so I was happy haha

Slice it with the knife and take a bite — a sauce that's sweet with an explosion of savory umami... ahh, I'm hopeless.

Exactly the giant pork cutlet flavor Koreans love! The sauce soaked right into the batter and it was seriously delicious. (Writing this makes me want to eat it again. Slurp)

Heh, you're telling me that guy is the weakest of our Four Heavenly Kings?

The cheese pork cutlet was nice and thick haha. So freaking good

The knife glides right through... the nutty cheese was ridiculously good.⋰˚☆ Cabbage and macaroni salad — a can't-lose combo... I was also curious about the cream kimchi fried rice, so I'll have to try it next time we're on a Songjeong date ⋆◡̎⋆

If you ask staff, they'll give you spicy sauce and chili paste for free, but the cutlet wasn't greasy at all so I ate it without the spicy sauce! (Might've been the diced radish kimchi and pickled radish I ate with it..!?)

That nostalgic giant pork cutlet flavor. If you're ever in Songjeong, Busan, you've gotta try, try it.

Eat this with diced radish kimchi and pork cutlet and you can inhale it endlessly.

The cider was in a glass bottle. Ice cold. (Tastes like, well, the taste you already know)

There were cute little touches all around haha. Looks like something you'd find at an Osaka lifestyle shop

Besides the group tables, there were also window seats.

Refillable salads and the pork cutlet burger combo

The cabbage was so fresh I highly recommend it ˘̴͈́ꈊ˘̴͈́ Crunchy, and they warm the bread rolls by default so it's nice that they're not cold!

Plate of unlimited macaroni salad and cabbage

As shown on the table order screen, I made a pork cutlet burger with macaroni salad and cabbage tucked in, yum. I bet you could make a burger with the beef cutlet too and it'd be great.

Can you bring a baby to Deli Donkatsu? Baby chairs and tableware

Deli Donkatsu had baby tableware and a baby chair set up ॱෆ ̖́-‬ There was another chair besides this one but it was already in use so I didn't get a separate photo.

Right next to the entrance there's a self-serve coffee machine and water dispenser — I guess that's why the sign says the place is a bit tight on space.

Even if you write your name down for a wait, the turnover is fast so you probably won't wait long. The food came out fast too 𝛝𝟈

The food was delicious and the staff were friendly, so we left the meal feeling great.♡⁼³₌₃

Why Deli Donkatsu works as a Songjeong date lunch

Highly recommend it as a great-value lunch date course near Songjeong, Busan! The cheese was so pillowy soft! That stretchy, soft cheese paired beautifully with the crispy batter ೀ

I inhaled the refillable cabbage... especially the coleslaw-mayo sauce, which was seriously delicious ᕱ⑅ᕱ ꒰ˊᗜˋ* ꒱
