Nampo-dong bar in Busan with soju 1+1 before 7pm: Budan Nampo
In short
Budan Nampo Branch is a pub-style gastro bar on the second floor of Bupyeong Jokbal Alley in Nampo-dong, Busan. Arriving right at the 5pm opening for a second round, the writer ordered cheese jjusaewoo (cheesy octopus and shrimp) and beef brisket seafood fish cake stew, and Budan Nampo Branch served toast with whipped cream as the free starter. Customers who arrive before 7pm get soju 1+1 except on Fridays and Saturdays, so coming early is the best way to visit.

Today I want to introduce Budan, a Nampo-dong bar that's perfect for a second round! It had great vibes and a wide variety of side dishes, so I was really satisfied.
Where is Budan Nampo Branch, and what are the hours?
Budan is located in Bupyeong Jokbal Alley! It's slightly off the main street, so you'll need to keep your eyes peeled to find it.

As I arrived at the entrance, I saw a clean, stylish sign! We got there right at opening time after eating yang gopchang (grilled intestines) around 3pm. I'd heard the jjusaewoo (octopus and shrimp) here was so good...

Soju 1+1 when you arrive before 7pm
A banner caught my eye before entering — they run a soju 1+1 event for customers who visit before 7pm! Anyone arriving early should definitely take advantage of this. Just note it's excluded on Fridays and Saturdays.

Pub atmosphere from the stairs up to the second floor
The stairs leading up to the 2nd floor are covered in lighting and posters, and I thought it felt really hip. The menu items for sale are posted on the wall, so I browsed the menu while walking up.

Stepping inside, the atmosphere was even better! It felt less like a typical bar and more like a pub full of feeling, with soft, hip lighting. Perfect for a date course or a group gathering!
You order using the tablet at each table. I didn't get a photo of the actual menu board, so I've captured one from Naver, but in reality there were even more menu items than what's shown here. We ordered the cheese jjusaewoo and the beef brisket seafood fish cake stew!

The free starter: old-school toast with cream
After ordering, the basic side dish arrived — nostalgic toast! I used to eat this a lot at bars when I was young, and seeing it after so long made my mouth water.

Dipping it generously into the whipped cream that came alongside is heavenly. The moment I took a bite, it brought back a flood of memories. Perfect for cleansing the palate before the main dish arrives!

What does the signature cheese jjusaewoo taste like?
The main dish I'd been waiting for, cheese jjusaewoo, finally arrived! As the name suggests, jjukkumi (baby octopus) and shrimp are the stars. Plus tons of cheese on top~~

The spicy-seasoned octopus and shrimp are wrapped in beef brisket. The combo of spiciness and savoriness worked so well together that I could keep eating without getting tired of it! I don't think there are many Nampo-dong bars that serve a dish like this.

The octopus had a slight torch-seared smoky flavor, which I loved, and there were even tteokbokki rice cakes in there, totally my type.

Look at that cheese stretch! The cheese was so delicious I kept eating it, but toward the end I felt there wasn't quite enough cheese, which was a bit of a letdown. I scraped up every last bit of cheese though. I wish they had an option to add extra cheese!

Octopus and cheese together — you already know that's delicious without me saying it, right?

Soup to go with soju: beef brisket seafood fish cake stew
When you're drinking soju, a soup is essential, so I ordered the beef brisket seafood fish cake stew. I think the quality was really excellent compared to other side dishes I've had at dining pubs.

You start on high heat and wait for the beef brisket to cook, then switch to low heat to keep eating.

The fish cakes were nice and chewy too.

I thought the shrimp would be really small, but there were actually some sizable ones, plus blue crab was in there too, making the broth wonderfully refreshing.

Eating like this, you'll easily go through three bottles of soju~~

I checked if our names were on the Good Day soju bottle cap event, but only found names of people we don't even know... makes me wonder if my name is really ever on there.

Ending a Nampo-dong night at Budan as round two
We wrapped up a satisfying second round at Budan, and since we were craving something cool and sweet, we headed to Sulbing for round three. Nampo-dong has been drawing more tourists lately and has become a hot spot again — there were so many foreigners that it felt unfamiliar.
