Starfield Anseong Chinese restaurant 2-person sharing set: Chibao
In short
Chibao Starfield Anseong Branch is a Chinese restaurant in the Itopia food court on the 2nd floor of Starfield Anseong in Gyeonggi. Before shopping, the 2-person set — tantanmen, jjajangmyeon (noodles in black bean sauce) and mini tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork) on one tray — with a zero-sugar cider proved generous for two, and the tantanmen tasted nutty rather than hot. Chibao is a filling, good-value Chinese lunch that two mild-spice eaters can order without any gamble.

Today I'm bringing you a review of a Chinese restaurant I ate a hearty lunch at while shopping at Starfield Anseong haha.
You know how when you go to Starfield there's so much to eat that you end up circling the food court for over 10 minutes just thinking "what should I eat today?" I can't be the only one lol. That's when I suddenly craved Chinese food and stopped by a place called 'Chibao'.
I'm about to give you my honest review of demolishing the 2-person set (tantanmen + jjajangmyeon + mini tangsuyuk) — perfect for two — along with a refreshing zero-sugar cider! Also a solid recommendation if you're looking for a lunch spot at Starfield Anseong haha.
Where is Chibao in Starfield Anseong, and what is the seating like?
Chibao was easy to find since it's located in Itopia, the 2nd floor food court of Starfield Anseong. Since it's shared food court seating, you can sit next to people eating food from other restaurants.

Even though I went on a weekday evening, there were quite a lot of customers at Chibao! The seats are shared with other restaurants, but there was plenty of seating, which was nice haha. I grabbed a sofa seat without any hesitation haha. Oh, and parking at Starfield is free!
Chibao's menu and why we picked the 2-person set
I was thinking of ordering the tantanmen, jjajangmyeon, and tangsuyuk separately as individual dishes, but then I spotted the set that lets you try all three at once — such a good deal — so I picked it right away haha.

After ordering and getting the buzzer, I found a table in the food court, and the food came out faster than I expected!

Honest taste test of Chibao's 2-person set: tantanmen, jjajangmyeon, mini tangsuyuk
The tray came out packed and looked mouthwatering right away, and the portion was pretty generous for two people to share.

1. Glossy, satisfying jjajangmyeon at Chibao
Jjajangmyeon (black bean noodles) is a must at any Chinese restaurant, right? I mixed the noodles into the glossy black bean sauce and took a bite — it wasn't too sweet and had just the right savory depth. The noodles were chewy and springy, not soggy, perfect for slurping lol. The chunks of meat and onion were big enough to bite into, making it a crowd-pleasing jjajang that made me want to mix it with rice.

2. Chibao's tantanmen: 80% nutty, 20% spicy
Getting tantanmen instead of the regular jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup) in the set was such a smart move! It's not the aggressively spicy and fiery style — about 80% is the heavy, rich nuttiness of the peanut sauce wrapping everything up, with the remaining 20% giving a little kick of chili oil spiciness, so even I, someone who can't handle spice, kept spooning up the broth without any trouble ㅠㅠ Total nutty umami explosion..✨

On top of the noodles were crisp bok choy, ground meat with a smoky char, and half a moist soft-boiled egg — it looked generous just from the visuals.
The rich peanut base and ground meat sink to the bottom of the broth, so stir it all the way to the bottom, then load your spoon with noodles, broth, the meat topping, and bok choy, and go for it in one bite! Dipping it in the broth soaked with the soft egg half is also amazing, and switching between the jjajangmyeon and the tantanmen broth means you never get tired of either — total bottomless eating lol.
3. Crispy, chewy mini tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork)

Since it was part of the set, I expected a small portion, but it was actually a generous mini size, perfect for two people to share as a side. The outside was crispy while the batter had that chewy, glutinous-rice tangsuyuk texture — the bite was amazing! No trace of gamey meat smell, and the meat was thick, giving it a satisfying chew. Dipping it into the sweet and tangy sauce was absolutely delicious haha.

Can you see how thin the batter is and how thick the meat is?? The sauce was tasty, and the batter was chewy... Chibao's tangsuyuk really deserves recognition ㅠㅠ

4. A clean finish with zero-sugar cider
Soda is basically a must when eating a full Chinese food spread, right? To keep a bit of a clear conscience, I picked zero-sugar cider, and the fizzy bubbles washed away all the oiliness in my mouth, making for a really refreshing finish lol.
Tips to know before visiting Chibao at Starfield Anseong
- Grab a table first: seating competition at Itopia gets fierce on weekends, so I'd recommend having someone in your group grab a food court table before you order.
- Combo recommendation: if you usually love mala or the distinctive nutty flavor of tantanmen, this tantanmen set will be much more satisfying than the regular jjamppong.
- Parking perk: parking at Starfield Anseong is free by default, so you can enjoy shopping or grocery runs at Traders afterward without worrying about parking fees!
If you're looking for a can't-fail, hearty, budget-friendly Chinese meal at Starfield Anseong, definitely try Chibao's 2-person set~
