I heard there's an amazing barley rice restaurant near Mangpo Station where not only the barley rice is delicious but the side dishes are so fantastic that there's actually a waiting line??? There was no way I couldn't go check it out. Let's go~~

Where is Boriook Main Branch, and what about parking and hours?

At this all-you-can-refill barley rice restaurant in Suwon, the tables are spaced generously apart, which seemed great for group gatherings too.

There's a section with mother-of-pearl decoration in one corner of the restaurant — I kept glancing back at it, it was so grand. The clean look was really nice.

How does the unlimited namul refill bar work?

Once you order the barley rice, it comes out in a big bowl, and there's a large refill bar set up where you can conveniently go grab whichever vegetables you like.

There's bean sprouts, seasoned bellflower root, dried radish greens, shredded radish, oyster mushrooms, pickled perilla leaves, and various other pickled vegetables and bibimbap ingredients — you just take as much as you like.

There's also japchae (stir-fried glass noodles), and it's springy and nicely salty — made well, unlike places that just throw it together carelessly. It's not an easy dish to make, so that's impressive.

Besides the japchae, there are also seasonal fritters — lotus root, sweet pumpkin, sweet potato, eggplant — vegetables that can't possibly taste bad once fried, so they go great with the barley rice.

You can see the big chunky sweet potato fritter here. Fried to a nice golden brown, super crispy on the outside while staying moist and sweet inside — it really got my appetite going.

Not just basic bibimbap fixings — there's also acorn jelly that's amazing with soy sauce, various kinds of kimchi, and cabbage wraps that go perfectly with barley rice. Basically everything you could want is here.

And that's not all. No matter how many side dishes there are, it's useless if you run out of rice, right?? For rice lovers, there's extra rice ready to go too — this place is barley rice heaven!!!!

After the meal, there's coffee, plum tea, and peach tea ready to help with digestion. Owner's got great taste!! No need to worry about dessert either.

Barley bibimbap mixed with freshly pressed sesame oil and gochujang

The rice comes out along with a plate, and honestly the fritters looked so good that I grabbed a ton of them right away, haha??

They arrange the bibimbap ingredients prettily next to the barley rice. Bean sprouts, seaweed stems, chamnamul (aster greens), oyster mushrooms, shredded radish salad — a feast for the eyes just looking at it.

There was also braised tofu. So of course I grabbed some right away... it's a little spicy but delicious. And the japchae — couldn't possibly be bad, of course!! When am I ever going to diet, ugh.

At this all-you-can-refill barley rice restaurant in Suwon, there are two special things in the bibimbap. One is the freshly pressed sesame oil bursting with aroma — just cracking the lid open a little and the scent spreads right out.

My partner went and got more rice. I wondered if he could finish it all, but he said he loves bibimbap and eats it well, haha — and in the end he wolfed it down in no time.

A moderate scoop of bright red gochujang gets added on top of the bibimbap. The gochujang isn't overly spicy at all, and the color is just gorgeous, appetizing red.

Sweet potato fritter dipped in soy sauce

Dipping the sweet potato fritter into the tangy soy sauce, the balance was just so good. Sweet and salty — pure happiness.

The house doenjang stew that comes with every set

Ordering the set meal also gets you a doenjang (fermented soybean paste) stew — it has that hearty homemade paste flavor, and a spoonful alongside the barley rice is a fantastic combination.

Mixed the bibimbap up again with a swish-swish. Looks so good, doesn't it??? Probably because the gochujang is good, even a small amount really brings the color to life — must be because the ingredients are good quality.

At Boriook, this all-you-can-refill barley rice restaurant in Suwon, once you've mixed the bibimbap up nice and well, take a big scoop and nom-nom~

You'd be sad to skip the japchae here too, so I paired it in for a bite.

Besides the sweet potato fritter, the eggplant fritter here is also a real treat — moist inside, crispy outside, absolutely insane!! It reminded me of the fritters at a Chinese restaurant.

When you start to feel like you need something to wash the barley rice down, a spoonful of the hearty doenjang stew warms you right up and helps it all go down smoothly.

Sweet pumpkin fritters and puffed rice snacks for dessert

The sweet pumpkin fritter, nom-nom!! This is genuinely so good. Good enough that I'd want to come back just for this.

Rice puffs and rice crackers served as dessert

I enjoyed the rice puffs and rice crackers prepared as dessert, nom-nom-nom, and got so full I couldn't eat any more. At Boriook, this all-you-can-refill barley rice restaurant in Suwon, you get fragrant sesame oil, hearty doenjang stew, and fresh vegetables all in one bibimbap, plus a thoughtfully prepared dessert on top — definitely visit on a day when you're really craving Korean food!!
