Gwanggyo café for green tangerine tea and fruit slice cake: Café Diaz

Today I visited Café Diaz, a well-known cake spot in Gwanggyo! Café Diaz is famous for cream cakes piled high with fresh fruit, and this location is on basement level 1 of Galleria Gwanggyo, so it's a great stop while shopping.

I have fond memories of eating a delicious fresh fruit cake at the Café Diaz in Ingye-dong a while back, so when I noticed there's also one in Galleria Gwanggyo, I happily went to check it out~

Where is Café Diaz Galleria Gwanggyo? Hours and parking

Café Diaz Galleria Gwanggyo is located at 124 Gwanggyojungang-ro, Yeongtong-gu, Suwon-si, Gyeonggi-do, on basement level 1 of Galleria Gwanggyo. Hours are Monday to Thursday 10:30–20:00 (last order 19:30) and Friday to Sunday 10:30–20:30 (last order 20:00).

What slice cakes does Café Diaz have?

Café Diaz had many kinds of slice cakes and whole cakes ready in the case.

I felt reassured knowing they make every cake fresh each day using domestic eggs!

There was fruit, fig, peach, blueberry, chocolate, and more slice cake varieties, plus spoonable fruit cups and a spoonable tiramisu.

Maybe because it's fig season, there was a whole cake absolutely covered in figs that looked so delicious.

At Café Diaz Galleria Gwanggyo, we ordered the fruit slice cake, the Diaz Signature Latte, and the iced homemade cheongyul (green tangerine) tea.

Fruit slice cake

The fruit slice cake was loaded with blueberries, melon, fig, peach, grapefruit, orange, and shine muscat grapes. With so many different fruits piled on top, the colorful look alone made it appetizing. For my taste, the blueberries were the tastiest — nice and tangy! The cream wasn't the least bit greasy and had just the right sweetness to go with the fruit, and above all, the cake sponge was really soft. Next time I'd love to try the whole cake instead of just a slice.

Diaz Signature Latte

While I was debating what drink to order, a staff member recommended the Diaz Signature Latte, saying it was delicious! I don't drink coffee, so this was the drink my mom had~ After trying it, she said the coffee itself tasted really good. She said the coffee had a nice depth of flavor and just the right sweetness, pairing well with the cake. There really is a reason staff recommend it themselves!

Iced homemade green tangerine tea

I wanted something refreshing, so I also ordered the homemade cheongyul (green tangerine) tea. It had that distinctive tangy flavor of green tangerine along with a bit of sweetness. It wasn't overly sweet, so it was easy to drink without feeling weighed down. The staff member also handed it over saying to let them know if it was too strong or too weak! That kind of thoughtful attention made me feel even better about the visit~
