Magoknaru Station restaurant with 2-hour free parking: Songjjujip

Hi, this is Traveling Kim Kkong-woong. While hunting for a good restaurant near Magoknaru Station, I suddenly craved something spicy for lunch, and that's how I ended up at Songjjujip Magok. The dish I picked that day let me enjoy stir-fried webfoot octopus (jjukkumi) together with a bunch of different add-ins (sari). I'm usually a big fan of octopus, so I went in with high expectations, and picking through all the extras made the whole meal pretty enjoyable.

Where is Songjjujip Magok, and where do you park?

Songjjujip Magok is about a 4-minute walk from Exit 1 of Magoknaru Station, on the 2nd floor of Central Tower 2. There's an escalator right at the building entrance, so you can go straight up to the 2nd floor.

For parking, you can use the underground lot inside Central Tower 2, and you get 2 hours free.

A late lunch window seat inside Songjjujip Magok

The inside of Songjjujip Magok was spacious and comfortable, with group tables and baby chairs on hand, so it looked like a great spot for a family meal too.

I came by during a slightly late lunch hour, and grabbed a window seat with great natural light.

Menu, prices and how the table kiosk works

Ordering was easy through the kiosk at the table. Besides the signature webfoot octopus, there was also a lunch special bibimbap menu. To order, you just pick the dish, then tap to add the number of people.

The food came to the table pretty quickly after ordering. The basic side dishes included bean sprouts, perilla leaves, chives, gopchang gim (seaweed), flying fish roe, cold seaweed soup, white kimchi, salad, and more.

The octopus-and-sari set I ordered came piled with octopus and pork belly topped with vegetables, rice cake, and cheese rice cake — it looked really generous.

Once the pork belly was cooked through, staff came over and stir-fried everything for me, so I could just relax and eat. The red sauce coated everything evenly, and just the sight of it made you feel the spice.

Picking through the octopus, pork belly, vegetables, and cheese rice cake was genuinely fun. The charm of this dish really does come from eating it alongside the add-ins. Rather than just eating octopus the whole time, alternating with the add-ins changed up the texture and gave me more ways to enjoy the sauce.

If octopus cooks too long it can get tough, so the trick was eating it right when it was just done. Its bouncy texture combined with the sweet-and-spicy sauce made it more addictive with every bite.

I wrapped some in a perilla leaf with flying fish roe and dipping sauce, which made it even tastier.

The octopus itself was chewy without being too tough, and the sauce wasn't just about heat — it had a savory depth that kept me reaching for more, so anyone who likes spicy food would enjoy this dish.

And of course, you've got to finish with fried rice, right? I wrapped things up with a satisfying serving of flying fish roe fried rice. Don't forget to order the finishing fried rice — seriously, haha.

If you're craving spicy octopus instead of something ordinary, Songjjujip's octopus-and-sari set is worth trying. Between the bouncy texture of the octopus and the fun of eating it with all the add-ins, that lunch turned out pretty satisfying.
