The moment a cool breeze starts blowing, all I can think about is hot soup!

I suddenly craved shabu-shabu — piling on vegetables and meat to my heart's content — so this time I visited Dadam Shabu Shabu & Wolnamssam Wirye Branch, a spot that's become word-of-mouth famous near Namwirye Station. Everything from the interior to the view is designed to win women's hearts, so I wanted to introduce it right after visiting.

How long is the walk from Namwirye Station, and where do you park?

You can use the underground parking lot of G&G Plaza, the building the restaurant is in. They support a whopping 3 hours of free parking, so you can relax through your meal and even a leisurely tea time without worrying about parking fees.

Plus, the parking area is spacious enough that even new drivers should be able to visit comfortably.

The Changgokcheon-view window room takes bookings from 3 people

The moment you walk through the door, the bright open lighting and sleek modern interior catch your eye. The whole place is extremely clean and hygienically managed, so it earned a passing grade from the very first impression.

What I especially liked was that every seat is carefully separated by partitions.

The atmosphere isn't noisy at all, so it's a cozy setting where you can chat comfortably with your group while eating.

The real hidden charm here is that you get to enjoy a beautiful riverside view of Changgokcheon Stream! There are plenty of window seats, so it's genuinely fun to enjoy lush green scenery while eating delicious food.

If you make a reservation ahead of time, you can enjoy a private meal in the floor-to-ceiling window room with the Changgokcheon scenery spread out in front of you. (Note: room reservations are only available starting from 3 people!)

You can enjoy delicious shabu-shabu in a upscale atmosphere, so I thought this would be a perfect place for a precious family dinner, a work gathering, or any end-of-year get-together.

If you want to eat with your family in a nice atmosphere this Chuseok, definitely give it a visit! 🤍

Good news for anyone who finds it hard to visit in person or wants to enjoy a home party comfortably — Dadam Shabu Shabu also runs a solid takeout service for the entire menu.

Take it out for outdoor camping, a housewarming, or a home party menu and you can enjoy the same great taste as eating in.

Arrive at opening time and skip the wait

Because we moved a little early, we got to sit down happily without any wait. We visited right at opening time so we didn't have to wait.

Settling in comfortably and slowly savoring the fresh ingredients — there's no more peaceful healing time than that. If you're visiting on a weekend or during evening peak hours, I'd gently recommend hurrying a bit or making a reservation ahead!

I have one personal rule I always stick to whenever I go to an all-you-can-eat place: grab a seat as close to the self-bar as possible! It's my own little tip for getting delicious food faster and more comfortably.

Vegetables from a 20-year Garak Market wholesaler

I heard that the owner of Dadam Shabu Shabu & Wolnamssam near Namwirye Station has been a veteran vegetable wholesaler at Garak Market (a major wholesale produce market in Seoul) for a whopping 20 years. So they personally attend the auctions every day and carefully select only the freshest, best vegetables to bring to the restaurant.

No wonder every vegetable laid out at the self-bar looked so vibrant, with an unusually crisp texture — turns out there was this kind of serious expertise behind it. The quality of freshness is on a different level!

Boiling piles of fresh vegetables in hot broth, then eating them alongside tender beef and wolnamssam, drew out involuntary sighs of delight. This is a place that truly proves freshness equals flavor, so I'd strongly recommend it as this weekend's dinner-out choice.

Self-bar filled with vegetables brought in from Garak Market

Dadam Shabu Shabu in Wirye is a place that specializes in unlimited beef, wolnamssam, and all sorts of fresh vegetables. The lifeblood of shabu-shabu is vegetable freshness, and every ingredient stocked at the self-bar was crisp and vibrant with nothing wilted, so I fell for it visually first.

Piling vegetables mountain-high into the broth, boiling it well, then lightly blanching thin, tender beef and wrapping it up in a wolnamssam... it's a flavor that draws out genuine gasps of delight. Dipping alternately into chili and peanut sauce, you get a satisfying, full feeling before you know it.

After filling up on hot soup, there's nothing better for restoring your energy. If you're deciding on a spot for a family dinner or gathering near Wirye, be sure to stop by Dadam Shabu Shabu, which nails taste, value for money, and parking convenience all at once!

Beef chuck or thin-sliced beef belly: which to pick?

Rare for an all-you-can-eat restaurant, they offer two top-quality beef cuts: beef chuck and beef belly. If you want something lean, clean, and light, go for the beef chuck; if you want a savory, rich, deep flavor, I'd recommend the beef belly!

What each bowl on the table is for

  • Black round large bowl: for fresh vegetables only
  • Black square plate: for beef only
  • White square plate: for wolnamssam ingredients only

I picked out ingredients I felt like eating from the self-bar and plated them colorfully and prettily on the table. Just looking at it makes your mouth water, doesn't it?

Piling mountains of fresh vegetables into the piping-hot bubbling broth, then dropping in top-quality beef and lightly blanching it — that's when the real eating session begins! It's the moment when crisp vegetables and tender meat come together and draw out gasps of delight in your mouth.

They thoughtfully provide peanut sauce, chili sauce, and spicy soy sauce so you can enjoy it to your taste. With colorful fresh wolnamssam vegetables and rice paper all set up on the table, you're fully ready for the main eating session.

Top-grade beef with no gamey smell

Maybe because the meat is so fresh, there wasn't a single trace of gamey smell. Thanks to the savory, umami-rich flavor characteristic of beef and its great chewy texture, my chopsticks never stopped moving.

Why the crisp vegetables make the meal

Over 40 kinds of fresh vegetables, brought in daily from Garak Market, fill the self-bar. Just looking at them, you could feel the crispness and freshness as if they'd just been picked from the field.

If you're someone who loves Korean food or meat dishes in general, you definitely won't regret a visit!

Normally I don't eat wolnamssam much because wrapping it up feels like a hassle, but the vegetables here were so fresh and crisp that I kept reaching for more.

Was wolnamssam always this delicious?

I found myself realizing this all over again — I ended up eating an insane amount that day!

With the weather turning chilly lately, drinking the hot, deeply steeped shabu-shabu broth made me feel warmed and full all the way through. With generous fresh ingredients going in, the broth flavor kept deepening, so I just kept scooping up spoonfuls of it.

Finishing with kalguksu noodles and rice porridge

After filling up on fresh vegetables and meat, you can't just walk past the kalguksu (hand-cut noodle soup) or porridge station.

They boiled it up with savory sesame oil, seaweed flakes, and a cracked egg dropped in.

Since it's simmered in the deeply developed broth, every spoonful was packed with rich flavor and savoriness. Even though I was already full, it was an addictive taste I couldn't put the spoon down for!

How to make the homemade affogato for dessert

You can make a homemade affogato with quality good enough that you wouldn't even need to go to a café separately.

  • Fill a dedicated cup with real vanilla ice cream.
  • Pour warm espresso, brewed from top-grade beans in the coffee machine, over the ice cream — done!

With sweet, smooth ice cream meeting a bitter, fragrant burst of coffee aroma, it felt like it washed away the slight richness left from the meal.

The quality rivals a proper café, so I felt pampered right up to the very end — it made me genuinely happy.

Earning 5% of your bill back in points

Don't forget to grab your points on the way out after a delicious meal! They reward you a whopping 5% of your payment amount as points, which you can use freely like cash starting from ₩10,000. I carefully saved mine, looking forward to my next visit.

Dadam Shabu Shabu & Wolnamssam near Namwirye Station! I'd strongly recommend filling this weekend with warm, happy time with family, your partner, or friends.
