In short

Gamgol Yeontanjip Gayang Station Branch is a charcoal-grilled pork restaurant in Gangseo, Seoul, a one-minute walk from Exit 9 of Gayang Station. I visited Gamgol Yeontanjip Gayang Station Branch with friends for a rainy-day daytime meat feast. I'd already been to the Cheongna branch so I knew it was good, which made me a little excited haha. We enjoyed everything — pork belly, pork shoulder, flat glass noodles, yeolmu noodle soup, and steamed egg.

How the charcoal coarse-salt pork belly and skewered pork shoulder tasted

Here's today's star! The thick, hearty look of the pork belly with coarse salt casually sprinkled on, and the pork shoulder neatly lined up too.

Since it's patented clean charcoal, you can enjoy that smoky flavor safely.

Pork shoulder first! Grilled golden brown, cut into easy bites, and flipped until perfectly done. It's said to be high in protein and low in fat, good for building muscle, boosting immunity, supporting growth, and preventing anemia.

I'm personally not a huge fan of pork shoulder, but the one here was tender to chew and full of nutty flavor — really delicious. I tried it dipped in basil sauce, topped with pickled veggies, with potato salad on the side, and with scallions on top — so many ways to enjoy it haha.

Then the pork belly went straight on the grill — can't let the eating momentum stop haha. The meat sizzled golden brown while we said this was our first time grilling meat together in the middle of the day. Finally done — let's eat!

So glossy! Pork belly is always great. It's said to help replenish energy, relieve fatigue, remove heavy metals, support skin health, and calm the brain and nerves. It pairs amazingly well with the pickled vegetables too.

Oh wow~ the kimchi was cut into easy bites and seasoned just right — totally my style haha.

Delicious eaten plain with the meat, or wrapped in lettuce — either way is amazing!

Flat bibim noodles and shrimp steamed egg at 6,900 and 5,900 won

The flat bibim noodles for 6,900 won were the highlight! This is a must-order if you visit Gamgol Yeontanjip — spicy-seasoned flat Chinese glass noodles topped with minari (water dropwort) and cabbage. The noodles have a soft, chewy texture.

Wrapping meat in these noodles gives it a lovely chewiness, reminding me of restaurants where you wrap pork belly in rice cake — the mix of textures really brings out the meat's nutty flavor.

The Changdong-ne shrimp steamed egg for 5,900 won was savory, with lots of moist broth inside but not salty — I loved it. It was covered in sesame seeds for extra nuttiness with every bite, and biting into the tender shrimp here and there was excellent too.

They gave us a small dish of oil sauce for grilling garlic, so we left some on the grill — it came out so soft and perfect.

Yeolmu kimchi noodle soup to finish the meal

Wow~ the yeolmu kimchi noodle soup for 6,900 won completely cut through the richness of the meat. Cool, full of ingredients, and the noodles were just so good haha.

Slurping the noodles, picking up pork pieces — delicious either way, and it goes perfectly with the yeolmu greens.

Is Gamgol Yeontanjip Gayang Station Branch worth a visit?

Gamgol Yeontanjip Gayang Branch was just as good as the Cheongna branch — my friends and I left fully satisfied. The pork belly and pork shoulder were fresh, the charcoal-smoked meat was rich and nutty, the flat noodles were perfect for wrapping, and the yeolmu noodle soup rounded it all off perfectly.
