Where to find QooQoo under Chuncheon CGV

It's on the basement level of Chuncheon CGV, so it was easy to get to by public transit. It also seemed like a great stop before or after a movie.

The building has parking for 500 cars from B2 to B6, free for 3 hours. Just remember to register your parking before you leave!

Apparently QooQoo has won the Brand of the Year award in the sushi buffet category eight years running. It's probably the most famous sushi buffet brand out there, haha. On weekdays you can eat unlimited sushi for around ₩20,000-something, which is honestly moving, and there's a lot more than just sushi too.

Prices went up a little bit after the renewal, but I could definitely tell the menu got a lot more varied and the food quality improved too! Apparently the renewal is happening at select branches, and the happy news is Chuncheon is one of them!

What is the dining room and seating like after the renewal?

With its calm gray-toned interior combining marble, indirect lighting, and wood, it felt a lot more upscale than before. Before the renewal it was more like 'let's go when I want to eat a ton of sushi,' but now it feels like a place you go to eat well and also enjoy the vibe, haha.

The hall was spacious and comfortable. I worried it might feel a bit stuffy being underground, but the air was surprisingly pleasant!

Seating ranged from 2-person tables to spaces that could be pushed together for groups. It seemed suitable not just for family meals, dates, and friend gatherings, but also for work dinners and group meals!

The problem is there are SO many customers!!! It was the weekend, but even at 8pm, which is usually a quiet time, there were more customers than I expected — so many that I had to reshoot photos before closing time, haha! I heard there's a wait during regular meal hours, so I'd recommend going slightly off-peak!!

One reason this place is great to visit with family — there's a colorful, adorable kids' playroom!

The seats next to the kids' playroom let you eat while keeping an eye on the playroom, which was really reassuring. What I noticed on this visit was that QooQoo has shifted from its old image toward something closer to a family restaurant vibe!

From sushi to snacks you assemble yourself

True to a sushi buffet, sushi took up the biggest portion of the spread. There were around twenty kinds of sushi, including flounder, beef, tuna, egg, and soy-marinated shrimp. There were also about twenty kinds of roll sushi, like takowasabi gunkan and flying fish roe gunkan.

They also had salmon jang, shrimp jang, and soy-marinated crab (ganjang gejang).

There was chicken, gguabarou (sweet and sour pork), pizza, steak, and grilled dishes like lamb chops, sausages, and grilled vegetables.

There were also salads.

There were plenty of snack options too, and I personally loved that quite a few were the kind you make warm yourself, like coffee bean bread, waffles, and chocolate fondue!

+ And the marble ice cream I couldn't eat because I was too full!!!! haha. Being able to eat unlimited marble ice cream feels almost like a privilege... Even before I started eating, I'd already decided dessert was going to be that, and told myself let's eat it until we're sick of it today!

Plates I built and the dishes worth repeating

My first plate! Personally, I loved the egg sushi, aged kimchi sushi, salmon sushi, and soy-marinated shrimp! Don't forget to pick salmon sushi with more of the white part on it!

Second plate! I'd recommend the takoyaki, spicy chicken, mushroom taco(?), grilled vegetables, and yaki-udon!

Third plate! The wings and yukhoe (raw beef) were good, and the olives and tomatoes were sort of like a pickle-role stand-in — brought along like a bodyguard for my blood vessels amid all this.

Fourth plate is dessert. I grabbed diet-friendly grapefruit and pineapple, plus some bread! + Split the waffle with my husband.

+ And to finish, the marble ice cream I'd been looking forward to! Now it really feels like I got my money's worth. What was a shame was there were also lots of sorbets and ice cream flavors I couldn't get to because of time — next time I'll make sure to eat with no regrets!

What I noticed about QooQoo's food this time is that there are a lot more high-quality dishes now, and much more variety overall. Prices went up a bit, but it seemed well worth it!

With parking for 500+ cars on B2–B6 and 3 hours free, it's a convenient location to get to. I'd recommend it for family meals, dates, friend gatherings, and groups! Thanks to the more upscale atmosphere and wider menu after the renewal, it's great for eating your fill with unlimited refills, and on weekdays the ₩20,000-something price makes it a great value too. I especially recommend it for family meals where tastes differ, families with young kids, and big eaters, haha!
