Charcoal-grilled marinated beef ribs in Siheung: Daehwa Sutbul Garden
In short
Daehwa Sutbul Garden Siheung Janggok Branch is a charcoal barbecue restaurant in Janggok-dong, Siheung, serving Gyeongju-style beef ribs marinated to order. I shared the 800 g Special Platter with my parents, followed by market-style kalguksu and bowl ice cream. Verdict: a satisfyingly complete dinner, from meat to noodles to dessert.

Gyeongju-style made-to-order marinated beef ribs in Janggok-dong, Siheung
I heard a great meat spot had opened in Janggok-dong, Siheung, where Gyeongju-style beef ribs are marinated to order and grilled over charcoal, so I ran straight there!! ! 🚩
📍 10 Janghyeon Janggok-ro, 1616-dong B111–B113, Siheung-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea (경기 시흥시 장현장곡로 10 1616동 B111~B113호) ⏰ 15:00–23:00 (Mon–Fri), 12:00–23:00 (Sat–Sun) ⭐ Public holidays open at 12:00 too, just like weekends!

From sets to individual orders and sides
There was a menu outside, so I had a quick look before ordering. Of course, Daehwa Sutbul Garden’s signature Gyeongju-style marinated beef ribs immediately caught my eye, haha.
And the thing I loved the moment I saw the menu! Not only are there signature marinated beef ribs, but also house-made sausage, chicken cartilage meat, market-style kalguksu (knife-cut noodle soup), and ice cream—all together in a set. It is perfect when you want to enjoy a variety of dishes at once instead of just meat.

You do not have to order only a set either—there are individual grilled items, plenty of sides, and drinks too!

East Asian-inspired interiors that suit the sunlight
After studying the menu, I headed into Daehwa Sutbul Garden Siheung Janggok Branch, haha. The sunlight was softly streaming in right when I visited, and it was such a perfect match for the Korean East Asian-inspired interior.

There were witty signs worth reading before ordering, plus the delicious meat menu too 🤓🧡💛

The 800 g Special Platter I ordered with my parents
Since I came for dinner with my mom and dad, I ordered the Special Platter (800 g): ₩94,000, haha. The market-style kalguksu and bowl ice cream are served whenever you ask for them, so keep that in mind!

A spread of side dishes and sauces that went beautifully with the many kinds of meat was set out, along with seaweed soup loaded with meat 🤤✌🏻 You can refill any side dishes and sauces you need at this neat self bar!!

Charcoal-scented marinated beef ribs and chicken gabrisal
First, today’s beautiful meat arrived ❤️🔥❤️🔥 Alongside the chicken gabrisal (a chewy cut of chicken neck meat) came those lovely pink sausages! Since the beef ribs were marinated right after ordering, they were so red and glistening... 🐷
Onto the grill right away 🤓❤️🔥 The smoke and sound while the meat cooks... and that charcoal aroma too ❤️🔥 So good.

Once the meat was lightly cooked, I had a proper bite with white rice 🥹🧡 The Gyeongju-style marinated beef ribs were savory and chewy, while the chicken gabrisal had a wonderful crunchy-cartilage-like texture! The sausages had that snappy bite and plenty of charcoal flavor.

I also had a proper bite with the sauces and side dishes that came along~ And kept grilling meat with no time to rest 😋😋

One of Daehwa Sutbul Garden’s basic side dishes was a burrito, and I went wow! I lightly warmed it on the grill, then had it with meat, wasabi, and pickled chili—so, so tasty 🍖🍗🥓 (Meat expert Ji-young... right? Hahaha) Since it was the weekend, I had a light drink too 🤭 Cheers >_< (When am I ever going on that diet.. ㅠ)

Market-style kalguksu requested after the meat
After eating a good amount of meat, when I started craving broth, I asked for the market-style kalguksu 🍜🤍🤍
It was a huge serving of clean anchovy-broth noodles, with healthy vegetables like chives, zucchini, and potatoes, plus lovely soft noodles!!! It felt like I was recovering from a hangover in real time, you know? 🧚♀️🤍

Have it with kimchi, Korea’s soul food, and your mouth feels instantly refreshed ❤️🔥

Finishing with bowl ice cream
Lastly, dessert cannot be skipped, right? Bowl ice cream appeared!!! Vanilla ice cream, cereal, and sweet red beans—an impossible-to-fail combination 🧡
Mix it well and take a huge bite!!! The nutty, cool, sweet flavors spread all through your mouth, hehe. That was Daehwa Sutbul Garden Siheung Janggok Branch, where you can absolutely demolish meat, noodles, and dessert all in one go!! 🐷🍖🧡✌🏻
