To welcome fall and give myself a little energy boost, I went to Songnim Bok Jangeo (송림복장어) Siheung Baegot Branch, which has been getting popular lately as an all-you-can-eat eel spot, for one of my absolute favorite foods: freshwater eel. At Songnim Bok Jangeo Siheung Baegot Direct Branch, you can have unlimited high-quality Korean freshwater eel, pork belly, and duck neck meat, so I left completely full and happy. Let me introduce it! :)

How to grill eel deliciously
- Grill with the skin side facing down.
- Cook both sides well, then remove the fins.
- Cut into bite-size pieces, stand them up, and grill until golden brown.
First round of Korean freshwater eel and meat
They say you can enjoy Korean freshwater eel, prepared in-house every day, grilled directly over charcoal.

The freshwater eel, pork belly, and duck neck meat arrived.

Once I spread it all out on the grill, it was the amount of two whole eels, and the first round alone was so generous it could have filled us up already, haha.
Adding eel and meat from the self-serve bar

There is a self-serve bar, so you can comfortably bring back extra side dishes. It also has eel, pork belly, and duck neck meat, so just help yourself.
Following the tip, I grilled with the skin side down, then quickly flipped it over to cook the other side too~~ It came cut to an ideal grilling size, which made it so easy! The eel was wonderfully thick and substantial, so the texture was even better and tastier.

Once it turned golden, I cut it into bite-size pieces. Standing the pieces up at the end let them turn deliciously golden over the charcoal brazier while the fat drained right off. Time to try this plump, golden freshwater eel, haha.

Eel and ginger are the best combination, right? Haha. From the first bite, the eel juices filled my mouth, and I could tell how fresh and high-quality it was.
Songnim Bok Jangeo is all-you-can-eat, but it serves eel prepared that day rather than frozen eel, so even the glossy look is different, haha. The quality is as delicious as an eel specialty restaurant!!

The eel was so good that I went back to the self-serve bar for just a little more eel, hehe.

I filled the grill up so it would not look empty, haha.

The pro tip is to cut it to a tasty thickness, then stand it up to grill! Haha. Since it is direct charcoal grilling over a brazier, the fat falls through the grates and it browns so quickly—seriously amazing and so tasty. From the eel quality to the grill and charcoal heat, everything gets a perfect score, haha.

There was room left on the grill, so I added pork belly and duck neck meat too. Because we could eat it all, haha.

Let’s recharge with a grill full of freshwater eel, haha.

Since it is an eel specialty restaurant, I was not expecting much from the pork belly. But wow… the pork belly was so delicious too, haha. Even though I was full from the first bite, it was good enough to make me want more.

I wrapped it in lettuce too~ It was my first time trying duck neck meat, and it was tender, flavorful, and had no gamey smell. After trying all three, I honestly thought, wow… can they even make a profit at this price? The selection and quality are outstanding.
Final thoughts on freshwater eel, pork belly, and duck neck meat
