Chicken curry at a Thai restaurant near Yadang Station: Drunken Thai

If you love Thai food, there's a place I really want to introduce you to — Drunken Thai Unjeong Yadang Branch, which I'm honestly quite fond of. I order from here for delivery all the time, but this time I finally visited the actual store after a long while and properly enjoyed pad thai, morning glory, and chicken curry. Delivery is delicious too, of course, but eating it warm right at the restaurant felt even better. Drunken Thai really nails the local flavor I remember from my trip to Thailand, which is exactly why I love it so much 💕

Drunken Thai Unjeong Yadang Branch is a Thai restaurant located at Unit 108, Yuen Tower 1, near Yadang Station in Paju. There are so many restaurants around Yadang Station that a lot of people search for Yadang Station pho too. I actually found this place while looking for good Thai food nearby, and what I liked is that Drunken Thai serves not just pho but also pad thai, curry, and morning glory — a nice range of Thai dishes.

What the Drunken Thai dining room is like

The first thing you notice walking into Drunken Thai Unjeong Yadang Branch is the distinctly exotic Thai atmosphere.

The interior is packed with Thai touches, so it doesn't feel like just a meal — it feels like a little trip to Thailand. The decor and props throughout really capture the mood of a Thai restaurant, and it's great for photos too. I think it'd make a nice date spot, and also a good place to bring friends for a Thai food night (*ˊᵕˋ*)੭ ੈ❤

How does the pad thai at Drunken Thai taste?

First up was the pad thai, which is one of my favorites. I have such fond memories of eating pad thai in Thailand that I always order it whenever I visit a Thai restaurant here in Korea. Drunken Thai's pad thai brought back that same local flavor I remember so vividly.

The Thai-style sauce had that perfect balance of sweet, salty and slightly tangy, and the noodles were well coated so every bite had real depth of flavor. Eating it with the bean sprouts added a nice crunch that made it even better.

Was the morning glory any good?

And of course, morning glory is a must whenever I go to a Thai restaurant!!!!!! I first tried morning glory in Thailand and loved it so much that I've ordered it almost every time since. Drunken Thai's morning glory kept that signature crunch of water spinach, and the salty, savory sauce was absolutely amazing haha. It's great with rice, or as a side between other dishes. Best of all, it wasn't overcooked and mushy — just the right stir-fry texture!!!!!!

Lastly, I also ordered the chicken curry haha. The tender chicken and rich curry sauce worked really well together, offering a different kind of appeal from the pad thai. It had that distinct Thai curry flavor without being overwhelming, so I kept going back for more. Eating all three dishes together — noodles, vegetables, and curry — made for a really satisfying meal.

Delivery or dining in at Drunken Thai: which is better?

Honestly, I order delivery from Drunken Thai often, and it's plenty delicious eaten at home. But visiting in person this time gave me a completely different feeling. Being able to eat it warm the moment it arrived was great, and eating in a space so full of Thai atmosphere made the food feel even richer.

But the biggest thing is that it brings back the exact flavors I remember from Thailand. This isn't Thai food toned down for Korean tastes — if you love those authentic local flavors, I think you'll be really satisfied here. So for anyone like me who keeps craving Thai food after a trip there, I'd definitely recommend this place.

If you're looking for good restaurants near Unjeong Lake Park, this is worth a visit too. It'd make a great course after a walk or a date around the lake park — finishing off with some exotic Thai food. And if you're near Yadang Station looking for pho or Thai food, there's plenty of variety here to suit your taste. I've already ordered delivery from this place many times, but visiting in person this time reminded me exactly why I love it.
