Suwon Korean restaurant for pork kimchi stir-fry: Sarangjip
In short
Sarangjip is a Korean restaurant near Ajou University in Suwon, Gyeonggi. I added snow cheese to the ₩19,000 small pork kimchi stir-fry, then wrapped it with perilla leaves and finished with fried rice. Sarangjip is a filling pick for two people.

I could see why Ajou University students love this place~ It’s a pork kimchi stir-fry restaurant, and if I lived nearby, I think I’d eat here all the time! Haha

Sarangjip location and parking
When I went inside, the restaurant was packed with customers. It really must be a true local favorite near Ajou University, haha. There isn’t a separate parking area, so if you’re driving, you’ll probably need to use Uman 2-dong Public Parking Lot. It’s about a four-minute walk, so it was fine!

Sarangjip menu and order

Sarangjip has a simple menu and specializes in pork kimchi stir-fry.
- Small pork kimchi stir-fry ₩19,000
- Extra snow cheese ₩3,000
- Fried rice ₩2,000
By the way, you can get fried rice for free through the Naver receipt review event, so keep that in mind if you visit, haha.
How to eat the pork kimchi stir-fry
Not long after ordering, the pork kimchi stir-fry arrived. 🔥 Let it cook for another 20–30 seconds at the table, then mix it lightly once the cheese melts and dig in. It already looks delicious, right?! 🤤

And for ₩19,000, the portion was quite large. Maybe because it’s in a university area, the amount for the price was really good. It didn’t feel lacking at all for two people, haha.

The pork was good too. It’s hard for a combination of pork belly, kimchi, and onion to taste bad, honestly. 😂 The familiar flavors are always harder to resist..!

Don’t skip the perilla-leaf wrap
But what I really have to recommend here is making a wrap! The pork kimchi stir-fry is delicious on its own, but wrapping it in a perilla leaf with pickled radish, mayonnaise, and garlic gave it a completely different feel. The moment you eat that combination, it becomes a whole new dish, haha. Please try perilla leaf + pickled radish + mayonnaise + garlic! 🌿

And with flavors like this... you can’t help thinking of beer. 🍺😂 So I immediately ordered draft beer and Terra Zero too. The cold beer was so good with the spicy, salty pork kimchi stir-fry. They have draft beer starting at 300 cc, which was perfect for a lightweight like me 🫶
Finish with fried rice and the leftover meat
After eating some of the pork kimchi stir-fry, I ordered fried rice to finish! They stir-fry it with the leftover meat, so it’s best to save some meat!

The fried rice was ₩2,000, but there was more of it than I expected. The portion was good and it tasted good too, making it the perfect finishing dish, haha. It’s classic, straightforward fried rice 👍💛

I enjoyed the fried rice too, but I still couldn’t leave out the perilla leaves here either. 😂 From the pork kimchi stir-fry to the fried rice, I ate everything very thoroughly with perilla leaves. 🌿
If you’re looking for a hearty meal near Ajou University, Sarangjip was a good choice. 😊
