Why I returned to Jowatso in Janghowon before giving birth
I’m giving birth tomorrow, so what should I eat beforehand to really say I ate well? After much thought, I chose Jowatso Janghowon Gamgok Main Branch and went!!! The side dishes are great and the beef is seriously delicious, so this is somewhere I come often, haha.
Around Jowatso, there were Icheon Silk Valley GC, Gamgok CC, Blackstone Resort Icheon, Dong Yeoju Armed Forces Athletic Center, Ariji CC, Sophia Green CC, Solmoro CC, and Star CC!!
Parking and the exterior
You can park several cars in front of the restaurant. If it’s full, you can park on the roadside across the street.

Jowatso Janghowon Gamgok Main Branch is a charcoal-grilled beef rib specialist that’s widely known as a place to eat before or after a Gamgok CC round, or for family gatherings. The red sign really catches your eye. There are tables in front of the restaurant, and people were smoking there.
A spacious interior that worked for group gatherings
The first thing that caught my eye when I walked in was the fan!! Such a thoughtful touch: charcoal grills usually make things incredibly hot, right?? The owner had placed them there for guests to use then. Seriously so thoughtful.

The inside was cool, and the restaurant was quite spacious. There were lots of tables, so it looked great for group meals or family gatherings!!

I visited on Friday evening and it was absolutely packed. But I get it... everyone was kind, the side dishes were tasty, and the beef was great value, haha.
The self-service bar and table conveniences

There’s a self-service bar too, with plenty of options, and it’s kept very tidy. You could see the owner’s care in every detail!! I got more wasabi and ssamjang (seasoned soybean paste) here, haha.
There’s an indoor restroom too, and it was clean. (Restrooms are so important at restaurants, you know~)
Each table had a tablet, so it was really convenient to have buttons like these instead of calling out. Paper cups, soju glasses, and wet wipes were provided at every table.

The Signature Special Cuts Platter and side dishes
From the Jowatso Janghowon Gamgok Main Branch menu, we ordered the Signature Special Cuts Platter for ₩89,000, garak udon for ₩6,000, and steamed rice for ₩1,000.

The side dishes included kimchi, pickled perilla leaves, spicy chili seasoning, sushi rice, lettuce, seasoned chives, and dipping sauces. The seasoned chives here were seriously delicious.
On the long tray were beautifully marbled bon kkot-sal, beef rib meat, and flat iron steak!! They said they select and serve only the tastiest cuts from the cow~

Such a truly beautiful sight... perfect for Instagram.
Unlimited spicy beef hangover soup?

One of Jowatso’s biggest strengths is that its spicy beef hangover soup comes as an unlimited basic service!!! Served bubbling in an earthenware pot, the soup was full of bean sprouts and beef, with a deep, pleasantly spicy broth~ It was unbelievably good with the meat.

I’d wanted to try the garak noodles for a while. My husband always gets naengmyeon (cold buckwheat noodles) whenever he eats meat, but he didn’t today, so I ordered the garak noodles instead. They also brought pickled radish and chili powder.
The garak noodles had chewy noodles and a clean broth!! The warm broth felt soothing in my stomach. Adding chili powder made it spicier and even better!! I finished every bit, haha.

The most exciting moment is when the beef hits the charcoal and starts sizzling. Tears in my mouth...

The different textures and beefy aromas of each cut were all so delicious!!!! I especially loved the nutty, flavorful flat iron steak. The more you chewed, the better it got!! Next time, I need to come back for the beef rib meat, haha.
A minced-beef service to request when paying

When you’ve finished eating and are about to pay, ask whether you can have the minced beef and they’ll pack some for you!! They said it’s freshly ground in-house, and I always make sure to take it home, haha.
I take it home, put it in the freezer, and later stir-fry it into kimchi fried rice for my husband’s dinner. It’s such a useful little perk!!!
How was it for family gatherings and golf-course meals?
With spacious, comfortable table layouts, kind service, and excellent-value beef quality!! It felt like a restaurant that would be great for families or groups visiting the golf courses. The side dishes were delicious, the beef hangover soup was unlimited, and the beef itself was delicious too;; There’s nothing missing at Jowatso. If you’re looking for great beef in Janghowon, definitely visit!! You’ll surely become a regular, haha!!
