Songtan Korean BBQ restaurant for group dinners: Dahamyeondwaeji1982

Today I want to introduce a pork BBQ restaurant in Songtan that had great taste, great value for money, and an owner so kind I walked out in a genuinely good mood haha.

Where is Dahamyeondwaeji1982, and how do parking and hours work?

Dahamyeondwaeji1982 (다하면돼지1982) is a pork BBQ restaurant on the second floor at 21 Gwangwangteukguro in the Songtan tourist district of Pyeongtaek. There's parking space right in front of the restaurant, but if it's full, you can use the public parking lot next to Homeplus Express. They said you get 2 hours of parking support when you eat there, so worth noting if you're driving!

How big is the hall, and does it work for a group dinner?

Dahamyeondwaeji1982 only uses top-grade Korean pork, so I was already excited before even walking in! Inside, it has an overall comfortable BBQ restaurant vibe.

The spacing between tables was pretty decent, so it was comfortable to sit and eat. The restaurant was especially spacious, so it seemed like a great spot for group meals too.

Another thing I liked was that they kept the windows open like this — the weather was nice that day, so having the windows open felt cool and pleasant. There was a nice sense of openness too!

It's good for visiting in the evening for BBQ, but they also have a separate lunch menu, so it seemed like a great place for a lunchtime visit too. Lunch visit + value for money + menu lineup, all good 👍

The renewal event: 2,500-won soju and beer, 990-won draft

Once you sit down, you can easily order using the tablet. Turns out they're running a drink event to mark their renewal right now. Soju and beer for ₩2,500, and 300cc draft beer for ₩990 🥹 A beer while eating meat is pure happiness, isn't it. I ordered one right away. These days sometimes the drinks end up costing more than the food at other places, but here the meat is already good value and the drinks are cheap too — there's no reason not to come ㅠㅠㅠㅠ

The 49,900-won premium set: pork belly, brisket and pork jowl

The meat menu at Dahamyeondwaeji1982 is broadly divided into premium sets, Korean pork sets, and top-grade sets — we ordered the top-grade set of pork belly + brisket + pork jowl, small size (₩49,900).

What's on the self-serve bar, from wrap vegetables to sweet corn

On one side there was a separate self-serve bar. It wasn't just wrap vegetables — sauces, side dishes, and drinks were all set up too. It was convenient not having to keep asking staff when something ran low; you could just grab what you needed yourself. And I was even happy that the self-serve bar stayed neat and tidy the whole time!

Anyone who loves corn kernels, raise your hand 🙌 I really love corn kernels and they had it at the self-serve bar ㅠㅠㅠ

The soju and beer I ordered earlier! Cleansing the palate with beer even before the meat arrives~~~

The giant half-and-half stew (kimchi & doenjang) for 3,000 won more

At Dahamyeondwaeji1982 the shabu broth is free, and you only need to add ₩3,000 for the giant half-and-half stew (kimchi & doenjang). We paid the extra ₩3,000 and went with the giant half-and-half stew.

What arrived was a ridiculous amount of stew ㅠㅠ. Honestly, at other BBQ restaurants a kimchi stew or doenjang stew alone goes for ₩7,000. Here the portion was huge, and there was even plenty of meat in the kimchi stew, plus the doenjang stew had several big chunks of tofu. And this was only ₩3,000!!!!! Seriously such a steal.

They also had half-and-half naengmyeon (cold noodles). We're always so full we end up debating whether to order water naengmyeon or spicy naengmyeon between the two of us, but here you don't need to worry about it at all. No need to agonize~~

Book ahead and get free woo-samgyeop

The owner gave us this big bowl so we could easily grab wrap vegetables ㅠㅠㅠㅠ. If you make a reservation through Naver or by phone, they also give you woo-samgyeop (thin beef brisket) as a free extra..... 🥹 I wonder if the owner is even making a profit ㅠㅠ

How did the pork at Dahamyeondwaeji1982 taste?

Time to finally grill the meat we ordered.

Even though it's marketed as good value, the quality wasn't bad at all — the meat quality was genuinely good. It was tasty on its own, but eating it together with the side dishes and accompaniments cut the richness and made me keep reaching for more. The meat, also good 💕 If this place were near my house, I really think I'd have become a regular ㅠㅠ. Even at checkout the owner was so kind ☺️. If you're on the fence, definitely go check it out.
