Stroller-friendly Yangjae BBQ with sofa seats: Gamdol Yeontan Jip
In short
Gamdol Yeontan Jip Yangjae Citizen's Forest Branch is a briquette-grilled Korean BBQ restaurant near Exit 3 of Yangjae Citizen's Forest Station in Seocho, Seoul. After a long play session at Maeheon Citizen's Forest, the family ordered two servings of coarse-salt briquette pork belly, two servings of gochujang briquette bulgogi and Changdong-ne shrimp egg custard, with sofa seats roomy enough to park a stroller beside the table. Between the basil ssamjang and the non-alcoholic plum highball, Gamdol Yeontan Jip is an easy pick for a group meal with babies along.

A weekend spent playing with the babies at Yangjae Citizen's Forest (Maeheon Citizen's Forest), then off to dinner together 🍖🥓 I heard this place specializes in charcoal direct-fire grilling so I was so excited 💕 Finally made it to Gamdol Yeontan Jip in Yangjae-dong, which is super hot right now 👍 Both the gochujang charcoal bulgogi and the charcoal salt pork belly were amazing!! My friend said it was sooo good and wanted to come back again haha
With baby Hatti 💕 with baby Ebatti 💕 sand play at the Maeheon Citizen's Forest playground was so much fun lol, moms sweating buckets..🤣 Time to go refuel on protein~ haha
Where is Gamdol Yeontan Jip Yangjae Citizen's Forest Branch, and is there parking?
Gamdol Yeontan Jip Yangjae Citizen's Forest Branch is at 12 Gangnam-daero 6-gil, 1F, Seocho-gu, Seoul, 383m from exit 3 of the Sinbundang Line Yangjae Citizen's Forest Station. Open daily 16:30–22:00, with free parking right behind the store, group seating and rooms available, and corkage for a fee.

The signage alone has such presence 👀 Love the retro vibe haha, since 1968~ apparently it's a two-generation family restaurant ✨ A mother born in 1968 and her son, who graduated from Le Cordon Bleu, the world's #1 culinary school, run the place together! 🍳

Can you bring a baby and a stroller to the sofa seats?
The main hall at Gamdol Yeontan Jip has sofa seating, which made things comfortable with the babies, and the aisles were wide enough that we could easily bring in a stroller. The inner area feels like a private room, which seemed great for Yangjae-dong company dinners or group gatherings too.
It has old-school BBQ vibes but is totally clean! ✨️ Every table has its own charcoal grill, the exhaust hoods are strong, and there are doors on both sides so there's almost no smell and the air felt fresh 👍 Plenty of seats in the main hall too!

The mother's traditional recipe plus a son who trained at a Michelin restaurant — this combo made the menu really unique 👀 It's been on SBS's Live Today! A famous spot. Calling it 'a new world of pork belly'! 📺

What we ordered and the side dishes that came with it
What we ordered ⬇️
- Charcoal salt pork belly x2 ₩31,800
- Gochujang charcoal bulgogi x2 ₩29,800
- Changdong-ne shrimp egg custard ₩5,900
- Royal-grade white rice ₩1,000
- Chamisul soju ₩5,000
- (Non-alcoholic) plum highball ₩3,900
- Zero Coke ₩2,900
The basic side dishes were solid too ☺️ House-made ssamjang, basil ssamjang, sesame oil sauce from a three-generation mill, potato salad with pickled peppers, seasoned scallions, lettuce, and Seolhwa green onion kimchi 🥬 They even gave the babies extra potato salad, which was so touching ☺️
The basil ssamjang was amazing! Such a unique flavor I'd never tried before 🤩 It was so good and interesting that I kept dipping into it haha. Cuts the richness and adds a fragrant note! 🤤 The pickled peppers on the meat also gave a nice spicy kick 🌶️ The heotgae tea and the cute Gamdol Jip logo glasses were adorable 🧊 I saw the heotgae tea and immediately ordered soju.. haha 😅
How was the coarse-salt briquette pork belly?

Once the meat arrived, the table was packed 👍 The salt pork belly comes in an earthenware bowl sprinkled with coarse salt, and the thickness is seriously chunky! 🥓 They say the jar-aging over 1,440 minutes gives it a different depth of umami and juiciness 🥓 The gochujang bulgogi came with sauce piled in the center, meat fanned all around 💕
Charcoal salt pork belly — crispy outside, juicy inside, the salt seasoning is just right so it's delicious even without dipping in salt 😋 The umami seasoning is top tier 🤤 Total flavor bomb!! We cut it small for the babies and the two of them finished a bowl of rice and asked for seconds 🍚 haha
We grilled garlic and green onion kimchi alongside it 🧄 Grilled kimchi + pork belly is the eternal combo 🥬 The green onion kimchi is legit too!!
Jini's giant lettuce wrap haha 🥬 Rice on lettuce, then meat + grilled kimchi + garlic + even egg custard piled on for one bite 🤤 Total flavor bomb haha
Especially the basil ssamjang 🤩🤩 so good 🌿 I wanted to buy a jar of just that haha

Zero Coke poured into the retro Gamdol Jip cup, cheers 🥤
Having the non-alcoholic plum highball on the menu was seriously a genius move 🍋 Even Jini, who doesn't like alcohol, joined in for a glass~ the plum highball was refreshing and sweet, so good. Take a bite of meat, then cheers with soju and highball together 💕 It was nice being able to toast together with everyone 🥂

How to grill the gochujang briquette bulgogi
For the gochujang charcoal bulgogi at Gamdol Yeontan Jip, they first mix everything up right in the earthenware bowl 👏 Then spread it all out on the grill at once — the smell is... insane 🔥

The gochujang bulgogi sauce is sweet and spicy 🌶 delicious even on its own! 😆 Because it's aged for 1,440 minutes, the sauce clings to the meat instead of sliding off. Mixing rice into the seasoned meat is also a special treat 🤤 Next time I definitely have to try the flat bibim noodles and the charcoal fried rice!
Jini's giant wrap round two haha, the seasoned meat is so tasty that even wrapped and gulped down it's delicious 😁
Changdong-ne shrimp egg custard 🦐🥚
It arrives piled high and puffed up in a stone bowl 👀 The bowl itself is huge! Scattered scallions plus whole shrimp inside, soft enough that the babies ate it really well. Perfect to feed the babies while the meat grills, so highly recommended if you're bringing little ones! 🐣

Is Gamdol Yeontan Jip worth it with a baby? Final verdict
If you're looking for a pork belly place near Yangjae Citizen's Forest, I genuinely recommend this one!!
- ✔️ Eco-friendly charcoal direct-fire flavor
- ✔️ Thick meat, jar-aged for 1,440 minutes
- ✔️ Three ssamjang varieties + quality side dishes
- ✔️ Non-alcoholic highball so everyone can toast together
- ✔️ Seating that's totally fine with babies along
Great near Yangjae Citizen's Forest Station and the AT Center, good for company dinners and group gatherings too 👏 A Yangjae-dong Korean BBQ spot I've now made part of the routine whenever we bring the babies to Maeheon Citizen's Forest 😆
