Side dishes, basil ssamjang and pajeori

This is how the side dishes at Gamdol Yeontan Jip Yangjae Citizen's Forest Branch came out! I was really curious about the basil ssamjang in the middle. I wondered if it would actually go well with the meat!

The pajeori was seriously the highlight! The seasoning was so tasty haha.

How to grill the charcoal coarse-salt pork belly yourself

The meat arrived. The top is the gochujang charcoal bulgogi and the bottom is the charcoal salt-grilled pork belly. The color of the meat was amazing, it looked really high quality! Since one earthenware pot equals one serving, the portion was generous and the value was great.

We grilled the meat ourselves. The quality was so good that I kept drooling the whole time it was cooking, haha.

Just grill the pork belly well until it turns golden brown.

There was a bit of chewy skin at the end, which added some texture and a nutty flavor, haha.

Eating it like this with pajeori and basil ssamjang is such a highlight. The basil ssamjang went so well with the meat!

Shrimp egg custard and diced charcoal fried rice

This is the Changdong-ne shrimp egg casserole. The casserole itself was huge and packed with so many shrimp inside! No need to say how it tastes, it was so good it just kept going down.

This is the diced charcoal fried rice. The visual is unbeatable, haha.

Just mix it up well — it has diced radish kimchi, bracken, and egg in it, so it can't taste bad. I highly recommend ordering it as a side dish.

Tips for grilling the gochujang charcoal bulgogi

Let's grill the gochujang charcoal bulgogi. For this one, you coat the meat well in the sauce and grill it, but you have to keep flipping it constantly so it doesn't burn!

It had that proper charcoal flavor and was so delicious. I feel like we would've finished a whole bowl of rice if we'd ordered one, but we were too full and only ate the meat — I still regret that a bit,,

Before heading out, they even generously send you off with a plum slushie for dessert! If you're looking for a Korean BBQ restaurant near Yangjae Citizen's Forest, I highly recommend Gamdol Yeontan Jip Yangjae Citizen's Forest Branch!
