I've been craving pizza lately, so I visited Furg Pizza near Inha University Station! Let me introduce this pizza spot known for its chewy dough made with bagel ingredients.

Does insulated packaging keep the pizza hot until you get home?

I was eating at home so I got it to go! They packed it in an insulated bag so the pizza wouldn't cool down, and I could enjoy it still warm at home. (Insulated packaging costs an extra ₩700.)

Since I love trying different flavors, I ordered a half-and-half pizza with basil mascarpone shrimp and quattro cheese fire chicken.

Basil mascarpone shrimp: how the creamy side tastes

Each slice had a generous chunk of soft mascarpone cheese on top. The first bite brings the subtle, luxurious aroma of basil along with the melting softness of the mascarpone cheese. Then plump whole shrimp burst through with a bouncy texture that wraps up the bite cleanly — the combination was pure art.

Quattro cheese fire chicken: how spicy is it?

The quattro cheese fire chicken pizza has four kinds of cheese, plus spicy chicken thigh meat marinated in fire chicken sauce and corn on top.

Since it's built on a fire chicken sauce base, the spicy kick definitely comes through. But the abundant cheese wraps the heat in a savory way, so it ended up being slightly milder than the original fire chicken ramyeon — just the right pleasant spiciness. I used to often pair pizza with fire chicken ramyeon, but after eating Furg Pizza's quattro cheese fire chicken, I don't think I'll need to boil a separate pack of noodles anymore!

Bagel dough and the whole-cheese milk crust edge

The dough itself was really impressive. It's apparently made with bagel ingredients and glutinous rice, fermented for over 36 hours. Maybe that's why there was zero of that dry, dense texture typical of dough — it stayed soft and chewy from the first bite to the last. Thanks to the whole-cheese milk crust upgrade, I devoured even the crust ends without any waste. Regular cheese crusts sometimes harden as they sit, but Furg Pizza's milk cheese crust stayed really soft.

Why this half-and-half combo at Furg Pizza works

The basil pizza is creamy and rich, while the fire chicken pizza is spicy, so switching to the fire chicken slice right when the basil starts feeling heavy balances things out perfectly — the two worked really well together! If you're on the fence about which half-and-half combo to get, I'd recommend the one I tried!! I bet stacking the two slices together would taste great too.
