Songdo sushi restaurant where salmon was the one pick: Sushi Doku
In short
Sushi Doku The Songdo is a sushi restaurant on the 2nd floor of Onesta Mall in Songdo-dong, Yeonsu-gu, Incheon. A 5pm reservation got us in right after break time, and the Myeongpum Sushi Set for two (51,800 won) brought 10 pieces of sushi with udon, tempura, salad and steamed egg, each seat set with a small brush (doku) for painting on soy sauce. Brushing the soy sauce yourself and the salmon sushi with no fishy taste are what make Sushi Doku The Songdo worth booking.

Where is Sushi Doku The Songdo and how to get there
Sushi Doku The Songdo is a sushi restaurant on the 2nd floor of the Onesta building in Songdo-dong, Yeonsu-gu, Incheon. Today I'm bringing you an honest review of my visit. The fresh sashimi and the neat presentation were so satisfying that I really want to recommend this to anyone looking for good food in Songdo!

Sushi Doku The Songdo is located on the 2nd floor of the Onesta building.

It's close to Technopark Station so it's easy to get to, and it connects directly to the 2nd floor of Songdo Hyundai Premium Outlet, so it's really convenient to swing by after shopping!

We had a 5pm reservation and waited for break time to end.

There was a menu board neatly set up in front of the shop, so while waiting we could pick out what to order ahead of time.
Partitioned tables, bar counter and the interior of Sushi Doku The Songdo

Walking into Sushi Doku The Songdo, the interior was really clean and pleasant. The tables were spaced comfortably and separated from neighboring tables by partitions, so we could eat in a more private and relaxed atmosphere.

Near the front there's also a bar counter (tachi seating) where chefs carefully prepare the food, making this a great Yeonsu-gu spot for solo dining or a date.

How the doku brush works: painting on your own soy sauce

Each seat had soy sauce and chopsticks neatly set, plus an unfamiliar brush! Unlike most other Incheon sushi restaurants, painting the soy sauce directly onto the sashimi with a brush felt really unique and special. The name Sushi Doku comes from doku, the Japanese word for brush, which made it feel even more fun and meaningful.
What comes in the Myeongpum Sushi Set, and why salmon was the one pick

Soon our Myeongpum Sushi Set arrived! With 10 pieces of sushi total plus warm udon, crispy tempura, salad, and soft steamed egg, the table was filled to the brim — a really satisfying spread.
Even at a glance, the sushi had a glossy sheen that looked gorgeous.

Following the eating order kindly explained to us, we started with the mild white fish, then moved to red fish, then seasoned sushi. Using the doku (brush) set out earlier to paint on soy sauce and taking a bite... the sashimi was so fresh and good it felt like eating at a proper specialty restaurant in Japan.

I usually like wasabi so I added extra on, and the sharp aroma paired well with the savory fish. Out of everything, my one pick was easily the salmon sushi! Salmon can get greasy or tiresome after a few pieces, but this had no fishy taste at all and melted in my mouth so smoothly it was amazing. Overall the quality of every piece was excellent, so we cleared the plate down to the last bite.

We really cleaned our plate haha
Plum tea and mouthwash: the small touches at Sushi Doku The Songdo

On the way out after the meal, there was warm, sweet plum tea ready to go — perfect either as a palate cleanser before the meal or a dessert after.

There was also a thoughtful setup by the register with mouthwash, floss, and toothpicks — a Japanese restaurant in Songdo that clearly cared about guests right down to the last detail.
