Chamer Hair, the Dongnae salon, is located behind Lucky Dongnae Apartment. A lot of my friends get their hair done here — two of my friends both got their hair colored by Team Leader Ain. It's already a well-known salon in the neighborhood, so I booked and visited without much thought.

When you come up to the 2nd floor of the building, you'll find Chamer, the Oncheon-dong salon. Chamer does more than hair — they also do wedding makeup, so if you're looking for makeup in Busan or Dongnae, highly recommend ✨

Inside Chamer: salon atmosphere and waiting area

The inside has an emotional, aesthetic interior! Even though I visited on a weekday afternoon, there were so many customers. There are several designers here, but on my friends' recommendation, I picked Team Leader Ain ✔️ and got volume magic straightening haha

The salon carries various products from Ayunche, the hottest hair product brand right now. If I had the money I'd want to buy every single Ayunche product here, sigh.

The inside is also quite spacious!! I recommend Chamer, the Dongnae Oncheon-dong salon, where you can get your hair done comfortably in a clean space.

They also have delicious snacks to munch on while you wait. They have a variety of teas and coffee too — just ask and they'll bring it right over.

It was so hot the day I visited, and I arrived from Dongnae Station drenched in sweat ㅠ_ㅠ So thoughtful! The staff brought me a cold coffee and even cooled me down with a cold breeze since I was sweating so much (a bit embarrassing lol)

I think I get magic straightening done at least twice a year. From frequent straightening and coloring, my hair condition was truly a mess ㅠㅠ It's not extremely tight curly frizz, but the fine frizz all over is pretty bad, so I get volume magic straightening regularly. Before starting the treatment, Team Leader Ain checked my hair condition with me during consultation — since it was already quite damaged, we decided to minimize damage as much as possible during the treatment while sorting out my hair.

My hair is on the longer side too, so I asked for a cut as well. I didn't want the length touched much, so I asked her to just cut off the damaged ends and thin it out a little — and she nailed exactly what I wanted!! 💇‍♀️

Haha^^... I came out from the shampoo looking pretty haggard. Once my hair was washed, the damage was clearly visible, which was kind of embarrassing. Since my frizz was severe, I wanted magic straightening, and since I didn't want to lose volume, we decided to go with full volume magic straightening.

How the volume magic works: solution, heat setting and neutralizing

I really do have a lot of hair, and two designers carefully applied the solution together. Throughout the treatment they kept checking in on whether I was comfortable, and we had such a fun, relaxed conversation — Chamer really is a great Dongnae salon.

Covering with plastic and heat treating ^_^ Even at this stage, the frizz is already somewhat tamed. So fascinating! They carefully checked the direction of my bangs and part while minimizing damage — Chamer in Oncheon-dong really gave me a beautiful volume magic straightening.

After applying the solution, they started the heat treatment instead of just blow-drying!! This was the most painful, tedious part haha. I really do have nationally-ranked amounts of hair, you know?! But they worked through it strand by strand with such care and no complaint 🫧 You know that feeling... when you have long, thick hair and feel awkward and unsure of yourself at the salon ㅠ.ㅠ

After the heat treatment, they thoroughly neutralized too. Magic straightening tends to take a bit longer than other treatments. If you're like me — long hair, tons of it, plus straightening — I recommend giving yourself plenty of time when you visit ☺️☺️

There was a massage chair in the shampoo room!! Getting a shampoo is already heavenly, but lying in this massage chair for a scalp massage instantly turns it into a vacation. No need to actually travel anywhere.

They dried my hair and styled it into pretty curls too. I usually wear my hair in C-curls, but how do salon stylists make it look so effortlessly pretty? When I try it myself at home, this curl never happens, sigh.

Magic straightening complete 🪄🪄 Like actual magic, the frizz disappeared and the volume came back to life. This is my favorite magic straightening treatment I've had recently!! Magic straightening usually damages hair badly, but at Chamer you can protect your hair and still get a beautiful result.
