Looking for a matte brown without red tones
My natural hair is jet black, but warm tones suit me much better with brown hair, so I’ve kept it brown for almost 10 years!! I wanted to tidy up my tone for fall and cover everything in a red-free matte brown, so after searching around, I booked Chamer, a hair salon in Dongnae, and visited.
Parking is free in the dedicated parking lot for Samsan Janggogip on the building’s first floor. If it’s full, you can use Sehyeon Parking Lot 100 m ahead. It is paid parking, with 30 minutes covered for a cut and 2 hours for a perm/color service.

Chamer Hair is on the second floor of the building right across from Dongnae Raemian I-Park 💇🏻♀️ Having one great hair salon near a residential area like this is just the best•••

A comfortable white-toned space for a long visit
The whole place was bright, clean, and calm in white tones—one of those spaces that somehow makes you want to stay a little longer 🕊️ You do have to spend a long time in a hair salon while getting a service, so I think a comfortable space matters more than you’d think..!!!

They also offer color services suited to your personal color, so they had color swatches ready! I could immediately tell they take color seriously, and my trust level went up.

Starting with a consultation for reddish brown hair
First, the shocking Before. I’d kept putting off touching up my roots, and lately my hair was in the worst state ever ㅠㅠ I definitely dyed it a brown without red tones at first, but after maintaining it with root touch-ups only and letting time pass, it had turned into this reddish brown•••

First, I had a color consultation with the designer to cover the red tones..! She was so, so kind from start to finish 🩵 I showed her one photo of the color I wanted, and she immediately asked how light I wanted it. She instantly got the calm, red-free matte brown feeling I was after ✨
Color is a little subjective, so I think communication and the designer’s sense are seriously important. But she understood exactly what I meant, so I could relax hahaha.

They thoughtfully prepared a drink and snacks, too.

Careful color-transfer prevention and scalp protection
When you dye your hair, color getting on your face or neck happens more often than you’d think. They wrapped plastic and a towel around my neck and carefully applied a barrier cream around my face!! They were especially thorough with the scalp protector—I don’t think I’ve ever seen a place apply it so carefully for so long 🥹🥹 But their hands were still super fast when applying the dye hahaha.

Massage chair in the shampoo room
And something I personally loved: there is a ⭐️massage chair⭐️ in the shampoo room!!!! I usually find lying down for a salon shampoo subtly uncomfortable and always hope it ends quickly, but this was the first time I wished they would take a little longer hahaha.

One more note for anyone picky about bathrooms..! I went in midway through, and it was super clean too haha.

The transparent, muted matte brown After
And then, the long-awaited After. I seriously squealed... I love it so much..... It’s a transparent matte brown with zero red tones, and it makes my face look so much paler.
It’s a soft, muted brown that is neither too light nor too dark. Exactly what I’ve always wanted ㅠㅠ Such a success••• They used A. Yoon Che shampoo and essence, and after the moisture treatment, my hair was actually softer than before I dyed it hahaha. So fascinating.

When I go to a hair salon for the first time, I worry so much about whether the color will turn out well, but with Chamer, just come and trust them. Their eye for aesthetics is simply good.

It’s only a shame this mysterious shade doesn’t fully come through in photos.. It feels a bit like the hair color that was once trendy for foreign kids, just darker!! I’ve dyed my hair so many times, but they’re really good here 🩵

You know how, when you don’t like your hair, you look in the mirror and sigh the second you walk out ㅠ hahaha. I loved mine so much that I took a selfie on the stairs ^//^

If you want a change in your hair tone for fall, I recommend Chamer, the Dongnae hair salon - !!
