Jamsil manga café with 3 friends: Telestrations, Overcooked, One Play

In short

One Play Jamsil Branch is a manga café and multi-entertainment space in Songpa, Seoul, between Jamsil Saenae Station and Sports Complex Station, offering manga, Nintendo, board games and OTT streaming in one place. Three friends booked the Snowflake plan (3 hours plus a drink, ₩14,900 per person) in Cinema Box room 10 and played Mario racing, Overcooked, Telestrations, Halli Galli, Dobble and the party game Death Debate. If you spend the time mostly on games, 3 hours at One Play Jamsil Branch feels short, making it a fun indoor option in Jamsil.

Today I was looking for a good place to hang out with friends in Jamsil, and ended up at One Play Jamsil Branch (원플레이 잠실점). When I think of a manga café, a place to relax with a book usually comes to mind first.

But One Play Jamsil Branch has not just manga but Nintendo, board games and even OTT streaming!!! All in one place. If you're looking for something to do with friends in Jamsil, it's worth a look. Three of us went this time and spent our time mostly on games! I'll walk you through the plan we used, the space and the games, step by step.

First impressions of One Play Jamsil Branch: the butterfly-lit stairs

Stairs with butterfly decor and lighting at One Play Jamsil Branch

The first thing you notice when you walk into One Play Jamsil Branch is the staircase decorated with butterflies. The walls are covered in butterfly decorations, and with the lighting added it looked really pretty. I was impressed that even an ordinary staircase was styled like its own space. I came looking for a manga café worth visiting in Jamsil, and the mood was a little different from a typical manga café right from the entrance.

How to use One Play Jamsil Branch

The order is: change into indoor slippers at the shoe lockers, grab your key, then head up to the counter on the 3rd floor. You choose a plan at the counter and follow the instructions, so it wasn't hard.

If it's your first visit, just knowing this order should be enough.

How much are the plans at One Play Jamsil Branch?

Plan price guide at One Play Jamsil Branch

Plans are split by time, from ₩4,000 for a basic 1 hour up to ₩22,500 for 5 hours with a drink.

  • Basic 1 hour: ₩4,000
  • Sunshine plan: 1 hour + basic drink / ₩7,000
  • Shower plan: 2 hours + basic drink / ₩10,900
  • Snowflake plan: 3 hours + basic drink / ₩14,900
  • Rainbow plan: 5 hours + basic drink / ₩22,500

The basic package drink is iced tea or americano, and switching to another drink may cost extra. Prices and events can change depending on when you visit, so check the store's notice.

All three of us chose the Snowflake plan (₩14,900 each): 3 hours with one drink included. Two of us took the basic iced tea, and one paid ₩1,500 extra to switch to a chocolate latte.

At first I thought 3 hours would be plenty, but once we started playing... time flew by much faster than expected. If you want to play a lot of games in Jamsil, give yourself a bit more time..!!

Is it a good indoor spot near Jamsil Baseball Stadium?

One Play Jamsil Branch is close to the Sports Complex area where Jamsil Baseball Stadium is, so it's a handy indoor spot before or after a game. We went around 6 PM, and there were already lots of customers, so not many spots were left.

Maybe because there was a baseball game nearby, I also saw an unusual number of couples in baseball jerseys (sob). Of course I can't tell whether they came because of the game, but it felt like a scene that captures the mood of Jamsil.

One Play Jamsil Branch is fairly close to the Sports Complex area. (We went there too!!) So it looked like a fine stop when you have time before a game, or want to keep hanging out with friends afterward. It could be a good choice for people looking for something besides cafés near the stadium. I especially liked that it's indoors, so the weather barely matters!

Cinema Box room 10: too small for three people?

Cinema Box room 10 at One Play Jamsil Branch

We used Cinema Box room 10 at One Play Jamsil Branch, and it didn't feel cramped for three friends playing games. The store overall doesn't feel huge, but since you actually spend your time inside the room, it wasn't a big inconvenience.

One Play Jamsil Branch is an entertainment space where, besides manga, you can enjoy Nintendo, PlayStation, OTT and more. We didn't watch any OTT and focused on Nintendo and board games. Among people looking for a manga café in Jamsil, those who like games more than books should especially enjoy it.

Which Nintendo games did we play? Mario racing and Overcooked

The first thing we started with at One Play Jamsil Branch was Nintendo's Mario racing game. Everyone competing to get ahead made the mood pretty heated from the start. The controls are simple enough for everyone to enjoy together, which is great for a group.

Next we swapped game chips and played Overcooked. Overcooked is a co-op game where players split roles to cook food and complete orders!!! But co-op doesn't mean it's all peaceful.

Someone preps ingredients, someone cooks, someone carries plates, and it's not as easy as it sounds.... I'm the troll... You help each other, but once it gets busy everything turns chaotic, and that was the fun of this game.

Playing the other version of Overcooked

We tried both versions of Overcooked and both were really fun. (Seriously, highly recommend.) If I had to pick the most memorable game of this visit, it would be Overcooked. If you like games, or are looking for something to do with friends in Jamsil, I'd recommend giving the Nintendo a try.

Which board games did we play? Why 3 hours wasn't enough

Board games played at One Play Jamsil Branch

Telestrations

After Nintendo, the first board game we picked at One Play Jamsil Branch was Telestrations. You draw a word, and the next person guesses what the drawing is. The fun part is that as the picture gets passed along, you end up with an answer totally different from the start. Understanding each other's drawings matters more than drawing well, so there was a lot of laughing.

Halli Galli

Next, a familiar board game name: Halli Galli! It's one you end up playing at some point whenever a group gets together. The rules aren't hard so it's easy to play casually, and after a long time it was more fun than I expected.

Dobble

Then we played Dobble too. You quickly compare the pictures on the cards to find the matching one. It looks simple, but once you start there's a strange charm that makes you focus. I won every round! haha

Death Debate: Daily Life edition

Last, the one that stuck with me is the Death Debate (사망토론) Daily Life edition. It's a game where you talk through situations from everyday life and share your opinions.

It was fun hearing each friend's different opinions, and after finishing, I got curious about the other versions. Switching between games like this, 3 hours felt shorter than expected. As a place that goes beyond just reading, I had plenty of reasons to recommend One Play Jamsil Branch as a manga café worth visiting in Jamsil.

Drinks and food orders at One Play Jamsil Branch

Package drinks enjoyed during games

At One Play Jamsil Branch, a drink is included in the plan package, and you can also order meals, snacks and desserts separately. You get thirsty more often than you'd think when playing games. Each time, I liked being able to take a short break with the drink from the package. We didn't order any food separately.

If you're staying a long time or want to settle a meal too, take a look at the menu. With manga, games and drinks all in one place, it was convenient not having to move between several spots in Jamsil.

One Play Jamsil Branch location, hours and visiting tips

  • Hours: daily 10:00–24:00
  • Location: near Jamsil Saenae Station and Sports Complex Station
  • Parking: check availability and conditions with the store before visiting

One Play Jamsil Branch is a good place when you want an indoor date near Jamsil Baseball Stadium, or a day of games with friends. When I visited, not many spots were left even around 6 PM, so if you want a particular space, it's better to check availability in advance. If you're looking at manga cafés in Jamsil, also check whether the game or room you want is available.

Today's record

  • One line for today: a Jamsil evening when I got more absorbed in games than manga.
  • First impression: the stairs with butterfly decor and lighting stayed with me.
Visit record photo at One Play Jamsil Branch
  • Most memorable moment: Overcooked, played frantically with friends. Both versions were so fun I wished we had more time...
  • Would I go again? Next time I'd like to try games we missed this time, or other board games.
  • Recommended for: people looking for something to do with friends in Jamsil, people who want to spend time near the baseball stadium, and people who like Nintendo and board games.

One Play Jamsil Branch felt less like a manga café for reading and more like a space to enjoy a variety of games together. If you're looking for a manga café in Jamsil, consider it as a place where you can easily hang out with friends.
