The interior of Hwadeogeuro Gan Godeungeo Bansang Yeouido had a sleek design, white tile walls paired with warm wood furniture, giving it a bright, comfortable feel overall haha. The tables and chairs were kept neat and spaced generously, so you don't feel packed in with other diners and can eat at ease, and green plants like pine bonsai scattered around the space gave it a fresh touch 👍

🍚 Warm sungnyung (scorched rice tea) and jang-guk (soybean soup): a big cauldron-shaped pot was simmering with a generous amount of savory sungnyung. Perfect as a palate opener before the meal or a finish after!

🥣 Tidy staple soup & side dishes: warm jang-guk, japchae (glass noodle stir-fry), various namul (seasoned vegetables), kimchi, tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes) and other side dishes made fresh daily, arranged hygienically in clean dishware!

Grilled mackerel 💗

➡️ Grilled golden-brown in the wood-fired oven, the fish came out crisp on the outside and moist inside — truly excellent! With the nutty grilled mackerel, the mild and soft Atka mackerel, and the sweet-spicy stir-fried pork all together, a bowl of rice disappeared in no time 😇

And the stir-fried pork we added 🤤

We could enjoy the grilled fish to our liking with doenjang (soybean paste) and soy sauce mixed with wasabi :) I just love grilled fish so much~~~~~~~

Aprons, restrooms and a plum tea finish

🧥 On one wall of the self bar, neatly packaged disposable aprons were on hand, and there's a restroom right outside the restaurant too, so it was convenient to enjoy the meal haha.
