Where Cham Dwaejitgan Bucheon Sinjung-dong Branch is and when it opens
Cham Dwaejitgan Bucheon Sinjung-dong Branch is a pork belly restaurant in the food alley by Exit 3 of Sinjung-dong Station, behind Lotte Cinema. It's open 24 hours a day, year-round, with a break time from 8:30 to 11:30 AM.
We were starving, so the first thing we did after sitting down was check the menu!

Black pork or Boseong Nokdon: which cut we ordered
Cham Dwaejitgan's meat is divided into black pork and Boseong Nokdon, and we went with Boseong Nokdon. (Click to enlarge)

The side dishes aren't super varied, but they've got the essentials down. I noticed every table around us had ordered steamed egg — no idea why we skipped it. Next time for sure. What we ordered was Boseong Nokdon pork belly, Boseong Nokdon flower pork neck, and kimchi jjigae.

The side dishes and sauces that come with the meal
The banchan (side dish) lineup is really good!
- Kimchi
- Bean sprouts
- Water dropwort (minari)
- Potato
- Mushroom
- Cheongyang peppers
- Scallion salad
- Pickled cabbage
- Garlic scapes
- Sauces

They give you one set of sauces per person, and it comes standard with salt, garlic, ssamjang (soybean paste dip), spicy sauce, wasabi, and mushroom wasabi! I already love putting wasabi on grilled meat, but the mushroom wasabi was on another level!
I didn't get a photo of the self-bar, but you can refill vegetables, side dishes, and sauces there! When something's this good, you've got to see it up close. O_O!!

The manager grills the Boseong Nokdon at your table
I loved that they grilled the meat for us at Cham Dwaejitgan. Grilling meat is trickier than it looks, and grilling it well is even harder, haha. The manager grilled ours himself, and honestly — no wonder he's the manager...

How was the kimchi jjigae (kimchi stew)?
While the meat was grilling, the kimchi jjigae arrived. It was packed with good stuff — look at all that meat in there, plus loads of tofu and kimchi! And the taste... well, of course it was great! :-)

Wow, but seriously, look how well they grilled the meat? The color is just gorgeous.

Potato wraps with garlic scapes and mushroom wasabi
This right here is the potato wrap!!! Savory and delicious!!!! The mushroom wasabi is really the kicker. Grill up the potato, top it with garlic scapes and mushroom wasabi — it's absolutely heavenly!!!

The whole spread on the grill...! Doesn't it make you want to set it as your phone wallpaper, haha lolol

Seating and atmosphere inside Cham Dwaejitgan
As you can see from the interior (not just the outside), there's really a lot of seating! We saw families, couples, and groups of friends, and it seems like it would be great for group dinners or wedding invitation gatherings too! Highly — recommend — this — place!!!!

The spacious, open interior and the table-order system make things really convenient, haha.

And overall, everyone was so friendly, which was great! The restroom is also indoors and nice and clean, which I liked too!

What to grab at the register on your way out
Freshening up after a meal really matters, and they've got you covered: Chupa Chups candy, mouthwash, lens cleaner wipes, dental floss, hair ties, Febreze, toothpicks, and even designated driver business cards. Isn't that thoughtful? Turns out my phone had gotten more meat grease splatter on it than I expected. I tucked a lens wipe into my bag and popped a Chupa Chups in my mouth on the way out, haha. Paying and leaving with all that prepared for you just puts you in a good mood!

By the time we walked out, the sun had already set. The place was packed inside — definitely living up to its reputation as a pork belly hotspot!

On a cool evening like this, sitting by the folding-door window seats would give you that outdoor pojangmacha (street tent) feel — even better! Delicious pork belly, sweet treats, and a kind owner and staff — this was the pork belly restaurant near Bucheon's Sinjung-dong Station, Cham Dwaejitgan, and it was perfect!
