Sogogi Twist Yeongtong District Office Branch is a beef specialty restaurant on the first floor of Millennium Plaza, right by Yeongtong District Office in Suwon. It's a clean-looking BBQ spot, so it's easy to find haha! Look for the sign written in blue letters!

If you come before 7pm, they'll give you free doenjang bap (soybean paste rice)! It's the perfect place to visit with family or friends when you want to stuff yourself full of beef. And apparently the beef here is cheaper than samgyeopsal (pork belly) — so exciting! 😘

Weekday evening atmosphere and seating: do you need a reservation?

'Sogogi Twist,' a well-known spot near Yeongtong District Office in Suwon, was packed even on a weekday evening~! If you have a set plan with others, it's probably better to book ahead. There were so many customers I couldn't photograph every corner, but there was space for about 10 tables.

We visited as a party of two and ordered the prime beef platter (1kg) for 88,000 won. For two people, even 500g would probably be plenty. But this time we wanted to eat until we were stuffed, so we went with the 1kg.

Side dishes at Sogogi Twist

Sogogi Twist Yeongtong District Office Branch also serves a varied lineup of banchan (side dishes): pickled onions, perilla leaf pickles, yeolmu kimchi, kkakdugi (radish kimchi), ssamjang, garlic, and salt.

I was really happy they gave us both pickled onions and pajeori (scallion salad) — you can just pick whichever you like better depending on your taste :) Personally, I felt like the pajeori went better with the meat!

Kkotsaeu-sal, salchisal and jebichuri with a dry-ice presentation

The beef platter (1kg) finally arrived!! 🤩 They even used dry ice for a cool effect. The meat came out in a generous, full plate! It's made up of kkotsaeu-sal + salchisal + jebichuri.

Of the three types, they grilled the jebichuri and kkotsaeu-sal first for us. They also grilled up mushrooms stamped with the 'Sogogi Twist' logo!

Since it's beef, it cooks fast on the grill, so you have to flip it well so it doesn't burn. Grill it just enough to look appetizingly done.

I got distracted for a second and the surface got a little burnt, but it still came out delicious, so I sliced it up and dug in happily :)

You wouldn't believe how good a well-grilled piece of meat tastes with pachae (shredded scallions)~ 😋 It's also great with onions!

The grilled meat was glossy and had just the right amount of fat — genuinely delicious!

How to grill salchisal (chuck flap tail)

This time, they grilled up the salchisal (chuck flap tail) for us too!! Salchisal is light yet has a bit of fat, making it wonderfully soft and delicious~!

Check out the side of the salchisal too~ 😍 Grill it just lightly and it eats incredibly tender!

This time we sliced it thick, and the juices just burst in our mouths — so good!
