Yeongpo Hwa-ro Ingye Branch: a hanwoo charcoal grill a short walk from Suwon City Hall Station

Yeongpo Hwa-ro Ingye Branch is a hanwoo and hanwoo pork charcoal grill restaurant at 14-5 Hyowon-ro 291beon-gil, Paldal-gu, Suwon-si, within 250m walk of Exit 10 at Suwon City Hall Station. It's open daily 11:00–23:00, takes group bookings, and has rooms, baby chairs, and parking.

Entrance and menu signage at Yeongpo Hwa-ro Ingye Branch

Came for hanwoo (Korean beef) dinner at Yeongpo Hwa-ro~! At the entrance I noticed that besides the evening meat menu, they also serve lunch dishes like minari galbitang. It's a hanwoo specialty spot but they also sell hanwoo pork, so if you're in a group split between beef people and pork people, no problem. I came purely for the hanwoo today though...🥩

Parking at this Ingye-dong beef restaurant: a private lot right out front

And here's what I really liked about Yeongpo Hwa-ro among Ingye-dong restaurants. The parking lot is genuinely huge...! When driving into Ingye-dong you usually search for parking before you even search for the restaurant, but here there's plenty of space right in front, so no parking worries! You just hand over your key when you walk in.

When people in Ingye-dong gather for a group dinner or family meal, everyone often drives separately, so a lot like this is a real advantage for that kind of gathering.

Spacious private parking lot in front of the restaurant

Private rooms and semi-separated tables for group dinners

Once inside, the place is much bigger and more upscale than the exterior suggests. There are tables sized for 4-6 people, and the tables themselves are somewhat partitioned, so it feels private like a room even without one! I liked that even during busy hours, you're not crammed right up against the next table with a loud, noisy vibe.

There are also separate private rooms, and space further in for larger groups, so it looked like a good option for Ingye-dong dinners, family gatherings, or group meals. Baby chairs are also ready, so family outings with kids work too!

Table set for a reservation with basic side dishes

Side dishes at Yeongpo Hwa-ro: kimchi, cucumber pickles, myeongi namul and freshly dressed scallion salad

We had a reservation, so the table was already set when we arrived. Everything from the tableware to the table itself was neat, giving a feeling of being properly hosted~ The basic side dishes came out clean: kimchi, cucumber pickles, myeongi namul, plus wasabi and salt to go with the meat. Once seated, they bring out fresh scallion salad made right then — a beef restaurant's scallion salad really does taste best freshly tossed...🤤 I also liked that it wasn't a huge spread of side dishes for the sake of it, just exactly what you need alongside beef.

Hanwoo platter at 49,000 won per 150g serving — three servings, 450g

Yeongpo Hwa-ro specializes in hanwoo and hanwoo pork, so there's a wide range of cuts. I ordered the hanwoo platter — jebichuri, upjinsal, bucaesal, galbisal, and more cuts — 150g per serving at ₩49,000. We ordered three servings from the start. So three servings of hanwoo platter, 450g total!

And I spotted a receipt review event! The menu items you get depend on how many people participate, and the freebies were surprisingly generous, so if you're visiting, definitely check it out. A lot of places just hand out a can of a drink for this kind of thing, but Yeongpo Hwa-ro gives actual food items depending on participation, which is a nice bonus.

A glass of non-alcoholic beer before the meat arrives

Before the meat arrives, beer first...🍺 well, non-alcoholic, but you've still got to get that feeling of a cold sip before beef. Now we just need the meat to show up...

Screen beside the table explaining the meat cuts
Screen showing set menus and doneness levels

There's a screen near the table explaining each cut, the set menus, and even doneness levels for the meat. You know how you sometimes eat beef wondering what cut it even is...? It was nice to be able to reference the doneness guide while eating.

450g hanwoo platter for three showing marbling

And finally, the hanwoo platter for three arrives...♥ Even in photos, the color and marbling look great. I'd been craving beef especially lately, so I got excited the second it landed.

Hanwoo platter plated separately by cut

The hanwoo platter isn't mixed together — it comes separated by cut. Mushrooms, sweet pumpkin, and shishito peppers are also prepped to grill alongside. Eating grilled vegetables between bites of beef is just so good... Mushrooms especially, once they soak up a bit of the beef fat and get grilled, are impossible to resist haha

Doenjang sulbap, the soybean paste rice that comes free

Here's something else I liked about Yeongpo Hwa-ro — doenjang sulbap (soybean paste rice) comes included...! Usually while eating meat you end up ordering doenjang jjigae extra or rice separately, but having warm doenjang sulbap show up from the start was great. The thing is, it's not just a token freebie-style side — it's genuinely delicious.

Charcoal heat and how the hanwoo is grilled

The charcoal comes in and now it really begins! Beef has to be charcoal-grilled... The heat is quite strong too, so the meat starts sizzling the moment it hits the grill. Beef isn't a food you wait long for.

Lit charcoal grill at the table

I couldn't resist and ate the doenjang sulbap before the meat even went on — wait, why is this so good...? The doenjang flavor is rich, and with rice mixed in it's savory and filling, good as a spoonful before the meat and good eaten alongside it too. I almost ordered another one but held back, thinking about the meat and ramyeon still to come...

Hanwoo grilling over the charcoal fire

The meat goes right on🔥 Looking at it again, the color is amazing... I'd really been craving beef lately, and getting meat with such good marbling made me satisfied before even grilling it!

With beef you don't need to fuss with it much — sear one side well, flip, and once the pink just fades, eat it right away. The heat was strong so the outside cooked fast while the inside stayed juicy, which I loved.

The charcoal heat is strong so the meat cooks really quickly. So rather than piling several pieces on at once, I'd recommend grilling just enough for what you're about to eat!

The very first bite should always be just a light dip in salt. The meat itself is so good you don't need much else with it. With just a touch of salt, the flavor of the beef comes through best! After that, a little wasabi. Beef plus wasabi — need I say more. Personally, plain salt was the tastiest, but mixing in wasabi or myeongi namul now and then cut the richness and kept me going. The side dishes weren't over-seasoned either, so they paired well with the beef.

A piece of hanwoo dipped in salt and wasabi with myeongi namul

Eat, then grill more... eat, then grill more... I thought three servings might be too much, but why do I always worry about that. Beef disappears faster than you'd think.

I didn't keep exact track of every cut, but I ate in the recommended order, and the cuts got more tender the further we went. No tough or dry pieces — the overall meat quality was clearly excellent. No wonder people come here as an Ingye-dong hanwoo hotspot for gatherings!

While cutting the meat, they also neatly cut up the mushrooms that had been grilling nicely on the side. The mushrooms, having soaked up a bit of the beef fat while grilling, were a treat too... Eating a bit of sweet pumpkin and shishito pepper in between was also nice as a palate cleanser.

Mushrooms and vegetables grilled alongside the meat

Thicker cuts especially don't need long grilling. Sear the outside well on high heat, and once the pink just fades inside, eat right away. Biting in and finding the juices still moist inside was genuinely delicious.

Weekday evening mood in Ingye-dong: group dinners and dates alike

While eating, I noticed quite a few group parties in for dinner even though it was a weekday. On the flip side, there were also plenty of tables with couples eating quietly. The place is overall clean and upscale, and even the standard tables feel independently sectioned off, so it seemed like a solid spot for a date in Ingye-dong, Suwon too.

Interior with semi-separated table layout

There are also separate private rooms, so if you're looking for a spot for an important family gathering, group dinner, or hosting guests, it seems worth booking ahead. Given the meat quality, the odds of the food letting you down with any guest are pretty low.

Grilled hanwoo served alongside doenjang sulbap

Taking a bite of doenjang sulbap between bites of beef, it really pairs so well. Having this included as standard is such a great touch. Personally, it's one of the most memorable items at Yeongpo Hwa-ro besides the meat itself!

₩15,000 ramyeon loaded with seafood

The 15,000 won seafood ramyeon, and why to order it early

Eating beef continuously, there comes a point when your mouth starts feeling a bit greasy. So, ramyeon on top! It costs ₩15,000. Looking at the menu at first, I did think, ramyeon for fifteen thousand won?

But it's loaded with seafood — abalone, squid, blue crab, shrimp, clams, and more. Not just a token topping either — a generous amount of fresh, sizeable seafood... The broth is properly infused with seafood flavor too, spicy and refreshing, genuinely delicious. My mouth, slightly greasy from the beef, got completely reset.

It's a dish that needs a bit of cooking time, so it doesn't come out the instant you order it. So rather than ordering it once the meat is nearly finished, I'd recommend ordering it early, while there's still some meat left! That way the meal flow doesn't break, and you can move straight from finishing the meat into the spicy ramyeon.

And this too... cleared~

Bingsu for dessert at Yeongpo Hwa-ro

I really thought we were done, but bingsu (shaved ice dessert) came out for dessert. After beef, then doenjang sulbap, then spicy ramyeon, finishing with cold, sweet bingsu — what a perfect course!!! And it's not a couple-spoonfuls-and-done dessert size either — a pretty generous portion!

Bingsu served for dessert

From three servings of meat → doenjang sulbap → seafood ramyeon → bingsu, we cleared every single thing, very thoroughly.

What to try next time: al-chadolbagi

Besides the regular hanwoo menu, Yeongpo Hwa-ro also has a somewhat unique item called al-chadolbagi. It's a cut formed into an egg-like shape that's hand-sliced thin piece by piece, and apparently it's Suwon's first al-chadolbagi. I didn't get to try it this time since I was busy with the hanwoo platter, but the look of it was distinctive enough that I've already decided to try it next time. Came for the hanwoo platter, left already planning the next order.

Verdict: Yeongpo Hwa-ro Ingye Branch as an Ingye-dong group dinner spot

The hanwoo itself was delicious, but overall the place felt well set up for gatherings: spacious parking, private seating, rooms, clean side dishes, side menus, and dessert. Ingye-dong especially has a lot of spots that are awkward to pick as a gathering place because of parking, so Yeongpo Hwa-ro being easy to visit by car is a real advantage! And on the way out after the meal, they have mouthwash, floss, hair ties, and even candy ready haha. From the moment you walk in to the moment you leave, everything felt well managed.

Yeongpo Hwa-ro, a hanwoo restaurant in Ingye-dong, Suwon. First, the hanwoo platter meat quality was good, and being able to try several cuts at once was a plus too. Most of all, it has a rare thing for Ingye-dong — a spacious dedicated parking lot — and beyond the rooms, even the regular tables are structured to feel private, so it seemed good to visit regardless of the occasion, whether a date, family meal, group dinner, or hosting guests. If you're looking for a good-atmosphere beef restaurant near Suwon City Hall Station, or a parking-friendly Ingye-dong gathering spot, I'd recommend Yeongpo Hwa-ro :)
