Bucheon pizzeria for a public holiday meal with a child: Cheesewave

On a public holiday I was craving pizza, so I stopped by Cheesewave Bucheon City Hall. Here's my visit review of this Bucheon pizza spot.

Cheesewave Bucheon City Hall: location and opening hours

Cheesewave Bucheon City Hall is at 16 Seokcheon-ro 184beon-gil, Wonmi-gu, Bucheon, and it's only 148 meters from Exit 2 of City Hall Station, so it's a quick walk once you get off the train. Hours are Tue–Sat 11:00–01:00 and Sun–Mon 11:00–23:00.

It's behind E-Mart Jungdong, with Hyundai Department Store and Bucheon City Hall nearby.

Cheesewave Bucheon City Hall atmosphere and seating

The restaurant feels clean and pleasant overall. There were about 6 tables indoors, and luckily one was free, so I didn't have to wait.

After I sat inside, I saw people eating at the outdoor seats too, and they even set up mini fans at the tables. Since it's open late, it felt like a nice place for a light beer and pizza in the evening. When I left, there were still seats indoors, but the outside was full.

What's on the Cheesewave menu and how do you order?

The menu at Cheesewave Bucheon City Hall is made up of pizzas and sides, and the pizza comes in large only. Most people were drinking beer. I really wanted a cold one, but I had to drive, so I passed, sob.

You order from your seat on your smartphone. On an iPhone, scan the QR code, add items to the cart and order. We chose the best-seller half-and-half pizza: half sweet potato, half sun-dried shrimp. You pay on your way out.

Cheesewave self-service bar and table sauces

There's a self-service bar to the right of the counter with tableware, water and pickles. Further inside, they also keep bags so you can take leftover pizza home.

After ordering, I saw a variety of sauces set out on the table, so you can mix things up to your taste. The pickles were crunchy and tasted homemade.

What style of dough does Cheesewave use?

Soon our half-and-half pizza arrived, and doesn't it look delicious?

Cheesewave's dough is thin and crispy. The dough was the first thing that caught my eye when the pizza came out, and every pizza place does its dough differently, right? Because it isn't thick, the toppings come through and you can finish it without feeling heavy. Personally, I love this style of pizza.

How does the sun-dried shrimp pizza taste?

I tried the sun-dried shrimp pizza first. Big shrimp are on top, so the texture was great. They were larger and plumper than I expected, with a nice chew.

There's a slight spicy kick, but it isn't harsh, and it's not too salty or strong, so you can taste the ingredients themselves. The pizza cheese is topped in just the right amount, so it doesn't feel greasy.

How does the sweet potato pizza taste?

Next was the sweet potato pizza, which my child picked as the best-seller. As expected, the sweetness is its charm.

There's plenty of sweet potato mousse on top, so I think people with a sweet tooth will love it. The salty cheese and sweet potato went well together and it was easy to enjoy.

One slice of each was left, so I packed them up myself with a bag from the self-service bar. Leftover pizza tastes great reheated in an air fryer.

Who should visit Cheesewave Bucheon City Hall?

The restaurant is clean and has a nice vibe, so it looks good for a meal with friends or a family outing. I think it would be even better with a cold beer. It was a great Bucheon pizza spot with thin, crispy dough and tasty pizza cheese.
