HYROX gear at a Pangyo pop-up: trying DARIMATI's BR001 training shoe

I stopped by Hyundai Department Store Pangyo Branch over the weekend and stumbled onto a really interesting space. As I was walking around shopping, I noticed some lively music coming from somewhere and my eyes were drawn to it. A brand called DARIMATI was running a pop-up store there, and as someone who loves working out, that was very welcome news. The place was buzzing with people, and just being in that energy put me in a good mood without even trying.

The DARIMATI pop-up store was set up on the 4th floor U-PLEX of Hyundai Department Store Pangyo Branch. This pop-up space I found at the Pangyo Hyundai was way more packed with content than I expected.

It wasn't just shoes lined up on shelves — there were plenty of hands-on elements to try, which made browsing genuinely fun. Walking around the store, I immediately got why serious fitness people come here. The interior was clean and stylish, and the staff kindly explained everything piece by piece, so I could look around comfortably.

High-intensity fitness competitions like HYROX are hugely popular these days. Oh, and since this was a pop-up run at the Pangyo Hyundai, there was an interactive event too — pull 300m on the rowing machine and you got a chance to enter a lucky draw!

And I actually won a shoe bag!? If you're passing by, it's definitely worth trying, haha. Since HYROX isn't just running but also involves strength moves, choosing the right shoe really matters.

Finding the right shoe for HYROX has become essential among athletes and fitness enthusiasts alike. At the store I visited, I could easily spot people carefully examining the products with exactly that concern in mind.

First impressions trying on the DARIMATI HYROX model

The DARIMATI HYROX model held the ankle firmly in place while staying light enough that intense movement wasn't an issue. The CrossFit running shoes I looked at in the pop-up had genuinely impressive functionality — it surprised me.

But it was so light that the moment I tried it on, I thought, I have to buy this. Trying it on myself, I immediately understood why people into fitness pay attention to this brand. It has technology that plants your foot stably on the ground, which felt like it boosted workout efficiency.

Why I chose the BR001 model

Out of DARIMATI's full pop-up lineup, after a lot of deliberation I chose the BR001 model. The excitement of picking out and paying for a shoe in person is hard to put into words.

I bought it thinking of it as a gift to myself while getting ready to take on HYROX, haha. The design is clean enough to go well with everyday clothes too, so it seemed like it would get a lot of use.

I put on the BR001 I'd just bought and headed straight out to Tancheon Stream in Pangyo. Running at night let me really see the shoe's true value — the solid support with every step I took was something I loved.

Getting to have such a good running shoe experience in the Pangyo area made for a really fun day. Running through the night air with light footsteps was one of the happiest moments of my day-to-day.
