HYROX training shoes at a Pangyo pop-up: DARIMATI BR-001 in beige

It's cool, crisp fall weather these days — perfect season for walking outside or getting some exercise. While I was looking into running shoes or something comfortable for my feet, I heard a DARIMATI pop-up store had opened at Hyundai Department Store Pangyo, so I went to check it out.

Where is the DARIMATI HYROX pop-up in Hyundai Department Store Pangyo?

The DARIMATI pop-up store is right in front of the escalator on the 4th floor U-PLEX of Hyundai Department Store Pangyo Branch, so it's easy to find. There's a wide sofa in the middle of the store, so you can comfortably try on shoes.

This place doesn't just have shoes — there's a full lineup of clothing like t-shirts, bags, and hats on display too.

Apparently DARIMATI massively exceeded its goal on Kickstarter in the US and became known through exports to several countries overseas. This pop-up is its first offline appearance in Korea, so it was good to actually check out the real thing in person.

The DARIMATI BR-001 running shoe is a lightweight training shoe weighing about 247g for a size 240. Instead of a regular lace-tying setup, the upper uses an Easy Lace Lock structure that you tighten and loosen with a buckle.

It's designed as a hybrid shoe concept — not just for running, but for high-intensity training overall where ankle hold and ground stability matter, like CrossFit and HYROX.

I tried both colors on, one shoe each. The store staff were so kind — they helped me put the shoes on and even suggested I try one of each to decide. I was really grateful for how kind they were.

How do the DARIMATI BR-001 feel on the store's rowing machine?

I checked out the fit of the BR-001 by actually getting on the rowing machine at the DARIMATI pop-up store. When pushing off the footplate and pulling, my ankles were held firmly with little wobble, and since the shoe itself is light, my movements felt quick and agile.

Even after a long walk, my weight was evenly distributed across the whole sole, so foot fatigue was noticeably reduced. Since the lace adjustment is one-touch, it was also really convenient to re-tighten while out and about.

The running cap is made of a thin, breathable material so sweat evaporates well, and it has the DARIMATI logo symbol in the center — clean-looking for running and easy to carry around too.

With its light weight, solid ankle support, and the convenience of the Easy Lace Lock, it's a shoe that satisfies both running and training.
