We came to Gapyeong for a pool villa getaway and needed a sweet pick-me-up during the trip, so we stopped by Cafe Imchori. I'd seen a lot of reviews raving about the desserts and cakes whenever I looked up Gapyeong cafés, and I'd wanted to try it, so when we happened to be passing by, we went in.

What made me extra curious was that this Gapyeong dessert café was actually featured on I'm Solo season 26. Visiting in person, it really did have the kind of emotional, camera-ready vibe you'd expect from a show — and the desserts were delicious too, so I left satisfied.

Best of all, it's located near Garden of Morning Calm, so it's easy to pair with a Gapyeong itinerary. When you're traveling, you end up looking for pretty cafés, and this spot's location — perfect for a break after visiting Garden of Morning Calm — made it quite accessible.

Cafe Imchori is at 701 Cheonggun-ro, Sangmyeon, Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi-do, 1st floor. Hours are 11:00 - 18:00, closed every Wednesday. Takeout and delivery are available, and it's dog-friendly with parking on site.

Even before stepping inside, I thought the neighborhood itself was really pretty. The space matches that laid-back Gapyeong atmosphere so well, making it a nice place to unwind before checking into our pool villa.

The interior was cozy and full of that same emotional atmosphere, so it was a great place to relax over dessert. There are pretty spots for photos too, so it would suit anyone looking for an aesthetic dessert café in Gapyeong.

Another plus is that this is a welcome dog-friendly café in Gapyeong for anyone traveling with a pet. As a dog owner myself, I'm always on the lookout for pet-friendly spots, so it was great that the whole family could stop by comfortably together.

How the peach cake and salted chocolate financier taste

One reason we sought out Cafe Imchori in the first place was the desserts and cakes. There's a range of flavors — melon, lemon, peach, honey sweet potato, fig — and with so many reviews praising the cakes and financiers, we had a hard time deciding. In the end we ordered peach cake, salted chocolate financier, a caffe latte, and a choco latte 📝

The first thing that caught my eye was the peach cake! It looked beautiful and matched the relaxed Gapyeong afternoon perfectly. The soft cake paired with sweet peach made it easy to eat without feeling too heavy, and it went even better with coffee.

What made Cafe Imchori's desserts feel especially good was that they're made in-house. A sign noted they use dairy whipping cream and gourmet butter for the cakes and desserts, which I think is why everything tasted clean with a nice depth of flavor.

If you like financiers, I'd also recommend the salty chocolate financier. The sweet chocolate flavor with a subtle salty edge made it impossible to stop reaching for more.

For coffee we ordered a caffe latte and a choco latte, and paired with the sweet desserts, it really felt like a proper sugar recharge during our Gapyeong trip.
