You can't visit Gapyeong without stopping by the Garden of Morning Calm, right? 🌳 After touring the garden with family, we went looking for a café nearby to rest at — somewhere easy to visit with kids but where the adults could still enjoy good coffee and dessert. That's how we ended up at Cafe Imchori.

Cafe Imchori is a Gapyeong dessert spot too good to skip if you're only planning to grab a coffee! 🍰🍪 The showcase was packed with cakes, financiers, and canelés, so it was fun picking out one item each with the kids. The milk-based cakes especially caught my eye — the cream looked soft and perfect to pair with coffee. The financiers and canelés were also great for sharing simply among the family, ordering a few and splitting them. The dessert lineup may change with the season, so it's worth checking what cakes are on display when you visit! 🍰
High ceilings and an inner courtyard for families
The moment you step in, you feel the open sense of space! High ceilings and a spacious layout meant nothing felt cramped, and the tables were spaced generously, making it comfortable for a family to sit and rest. Sunlight pouring through the floor-to-ceiling windows kept everything bright and cozy — a perfect spot to rest during a Gapyeong trip.
There's also a small courtyard toward the back. You can see the sky from the courtyard, so even sitting indoors felt like being outside — such a nice feeling! 🌿
How did the strawberry latte and melon milk cake taste?
We ordered americano, strawberry latte, fresh grapefruit ade, peach oolong tea, melon milk cake, and salted chocolate financier. With such a variety of drinks, there was something for everyone — coffee lovers and those craving something refreshing and sweet alike.
The americano was clean and refreshing, and the strawberry latte's soft milk and sweet strawberry flavor blended well, making it great to share with kids. 🍓 The fresh grapefruit ade had that distinct grapefruit tartness and slight bitterness that cleared the palate nicely after a meal. The peach oolong tea had a subtle sweetness from the peach paired with the clean aroma of oolong tea.
The melon milk cake we ordered for dessert had soft milk cream that paired well with the sweet melon flavor. The moist cake and subtle melon aroma made it a dessert the kids enjoyed too.
The salted chocolate financier had a rich chocolate flavor with a salty note that kept it from being overly sweet. Perfect with coffee!
Our little Ttungie-seo loved the strawberry latte so much we ended up ordering another one... haha. Officially approved by kid taste buds — strawberry latte, confirmed! 👍
