It had been a while since I craved beef for a family dinner, so I went looking for a good beef spot near home — and landed on Ilbeonji Jeongyuk Sikdang Janghanpyeong Branch, a Korean BBQ butcher restaurant in Jangan-dong that always seemed packed whenever I passed by. Go go! We ate a huge, generous beef feast and now I'll tell you all about it ✨

🅿️ There's parking space right in front of the restaurant, and they offer free valet parking, which made things really convenient. Since the parking space is a bit tight, ✔️ just keep in mind that they ask you to move your car out right after your meal.

Inside Ilbeonji: group tables and baby chairs

True to its status as a well-known butcher restaurant in Jangan-dong, the interior of Ilbeonji Jeongyuk Sikdang Janghanpyeong Branch is really spacious, with plenty of group seating — perfect for group gatherings or family dinners. We were seated by the window.

They also had baby chairs on hand, so it looked like it would be comfortable to visit with kids too.

Menu and prices: a 2,000 won table charge per person

The menu board really stood out, which made ordering easy. As a great-value beef butcher restaurant, the signature menus are big beef set, small beef set, 1+ grade hanwoo, single beef cuts, and you can also order a whole pig set or single pork cuts. We went with the big beef set (1.2kg).

✔️ To keep prices low, the table charge is separate — ₩2,000 per person, which is very reasonable, and there's a self-serve bar so you can grab more side dishes, plus you can pack up any leftover meat to take home!

  • Big beef set ₩79,000 — 600g + 600g = 1.2kg
  • Cuts: sirloin + chuck flap tail + skirt + short rib finger meat + top blade + beef brisket
  • Bibim naengmyeon (spicy cold noodles) ₩8,000

If you leave a Naver receipt review, you can also get a free drink.

They brought over the grill plate, which has a spot in the middle for cooking doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) — really convenient, and it kept things warm all the way through the meal!

Side dishes and the self-serve bar at Ilbeonji

The basic side dishes came out — all perfect matches for the meat: seasoned green onion, pickled chili, pickled onion, kimchi, macaroni salad, plus separate ssamjang (dipping sauce), garlic, chili and salt dip.

When eating meat, seasoned green onion and pickled onion are absolutely essential side dishes~~

Self-serve corner stocked with side dishes and vegetables

The self-serve corner was well-stocked so we could grab as much as we wanted — nice! They said the vegetables are bought fresh at auction from the market every dawn :)

The 1.2kg big beef set: what order to grill the 6 cuts

The big beef set arrived looking generous just from the sight of it! With 600g + 600g, the portion was hearty, made up of sirloin, chuck flap tail, skirt, short rib finger meat, top blade, and beef brisket.

Each cut looked high quality. The staff kindly told us to start with the beef brisket and other thin cuts first, grilling them in order.

They grilled the beef brisket first. Since it's thin, it cooks fastest, so you don't have to wait to start eating — nice! I dipped the savory, fat-rich beef brisket into the salt dip. Full of juicy fat and savoriness — beef brisket really is the perfect first cut!

The top blade was grilled skillfully too~ The meat quality overall was great, with no tough parts — just soft and delicious.

Dipping it into the salt dip lets you taste the meat's natural flavor, and wrapping it with pickled onion and seasoned green onion cuts through any richness — you end up eating endlessly~

Especially wrapping a full bite of meat with chili, garlic and ssamjang — so, so good~ It was a proper hearty beef feast!

We were surprised at how thick the sirloin cut was too~~ As we kept eating, the portion turned out to be so much that we thought about packing the leftovers, but my sibling insisted on finishing it all, so we really had a beef party until we were stuffed~ The savory doenjang jjigae went perfectly with a bowl of rice! They refilled it partway through too, so we had plenty of stew.

Finishing with bibim naengmyeon and dessert coffee

We wrapped up with the cool, spicy bibim naengmyeon (₩8,000)~ The half-frozen broth was so refreshing. Eating it together with the beef made it even more delicious~ A perfect cool, clean finish!

Near the register, there was a coffee machine along with a thoughtful touch — fabric deodorizer. We finished off with a cup of dessert coffee~~

It had been a while since I craved beef, and the whole family left this visit feeling properly full and satisfied. What stood out most was being able to enjoy so many different cuts at once, and the generous portions — a great-value beef butcher restaurant in Jangan-dong, Ilbeonji Jeongyuk Sikdang Janghanpyeong Branch!
