Ganaandeok Gyeyang Branch

Ganaandeok Gyeyang Branch near Bakchon Station
I was craving duck for the first time in ages!! I remembered going to Ganaandeok whenever I wanted duck before, so I looked it up right away and visited again this time :) Ganaandeok Gyeyang Branch is known for being delicious, and I was very happy with this visit-

Ganaandeok Gyeyang Branch is close to Exit 1 of Bakchon Station on Incheon Subway Line 1- It is in a quiet neighborhood rather than along a busy road, so I recommend it for family dining- It really makes you feel like you have gone out for a meal :3 It is about a five-minute walk from Exit 1, and buses make it easy to visit too.
If you come by car, you do not need to worry about parking- There is a large open lot farther inside, with well-marked parking spaces, so it is very convenient. There are front and back entrances, so use whichever is easier. In the photo above, I parked and went in through the back entrance.

There is a waiting area over here. Ganaandeok Gyeyang Branch even has a wait during weekend peak hours! We wanted to avoid waiting, so we hurried over before peak time-

A spacious hall, room-style seating, and duck dishes
The restaurant is spacious and pleasant- The staff kindly show you to your seat. The main hall has tables for four, while the side has room-style spaces. It seemed perfect for family gatherings or group meals. While we were eating, it looked like a big family was enjoying a meal together. Having a gathering in a separate space means you worry less about the people around you, which seemed nice. We decided our next family gathering will be at Ganaandeok!!
Fresh charcoal-grilled duck, smoked charcoal-grilled duck, and spicy marinated charcoal-grilled duck can be ordered as a whole or half duck. They also have duck baked in clay, duck and neungi mushroom chicken-style soup, and marinated pork ribs! Side dishes include ttukbaegi duck soup, duck egg chive rice, and Busan milmyeon (wheat noodles), which are great alongside your meal.
And if you come for duck, you absolutely have to try the duck mung bean porridge! It is served free with duck~ You order from the tablet at your table. If you want duck mung bean porridge while eating, simply order it right on the tablet-

Roasted sweet potatoes cooked in the charcoal
And did you know you can have roasted sweet potatoes when you come to Ganaandeok? Hehe, perhaps they grow them themselves? These sweet potatoes looked so appetizing, ta-da-

What we ordered was a whole fresh charcoal-grilled duck for ₩56,000. The duck looked absolutely gorgeous. See the sweet potatoes beside it? Once the charcoal arrives, you just tuck them right in, hehe. The side dishes were set out too. There was a generous spread of lettuce wraps, seasoned chives, seasoned bean sprouts, pickled onions, pickled radish wraps, and more.
Once the charcoal arrives like this, place the foil-wrapped sweet potatoes in it. They are going to turn into proper roasted sweet potatoes, hehe.
For extra side dishes, just help yourself at the self-service bar. It was so clean, which I loved.

Fresh charcoal-grilled duck and side dishes
Okay- now it is time to properly grill the duck over charcoal-

Ganaandeok Gyeyang Branch says it carefully selects and serves only fresh Korean duck. They use oak charcoal to bring out a deep, nutty flavor, rendering off the fat so you can really enjoy the clean taste.

You can see how beautifully golden it got, right? To enjoy the duck's natural flavor, I first dipped it lightly in salt. Ohhh~~ Ganaandeok for the first time in a while! It was so good :3
Then I tried it in a chive wrap, and duck and chives are such a perfect pairing!! It was absolutely spot-on. I also made hearty wraps with lettuce and perilla leaves and took a big bite.

Then we tried the duck egg chive rice as a side. The duck egg was wonderfully nutty and tasty. It had finely chopped chives and a sprinkle of seaweed flakes too~ You really have to order it alongside, haha.
Three servings of duck mung bean porridge ordered, done! When I was little? I do not remember liking duck mung bean porridge, but why is it so delicious now? Hahaha. I added just a little salt and enjoyed it.
And the roasted sweet potato that rounded off the day was cooked perfectly :3 It is so delicious when you blow on it as you eat, hehe.

They also have coffee for dessert, which is perfect for cleansing your palate.

We were so full from the duck that we ate only one sweet potato and packed up the other two. Such a tasty snack at home, yum yum :3

If you are looking for a healthy and delicious duck restaurant, be sure to visit Ganaandeok Gyeyang Branch :)
