A day of assorted mulhoe and grilled king prawns in Gyeyang

Even the exterior looked neat and well kept! As a mulhoe specialty restaurant, the menu was easy to scan at a glance, so I was already excited to choose what to eat before heading in haha. If you love seafood, this is not an easy place to just walk past!
Mulhoe is what we're most confident about.

A spacious, tidy interior and the side dishes
The interior was very clean and more spacious than I expected! The high ceiling made it feel wonderfully open. We ordered the signature assorted mulhoe and the seasonal salt-grilled king prawns. Corn somyeon noodles come with a mulhoe order!

Once you order, the side dishes arrive in a neat spread, and I especially loved the miyeok-guk (seaweed soup)! It was warm and mild, perfect for a spoonful or two before the mulhoe. Everything from the side dishes onward was served so neatly, which made for a pleasant meal :)

Assorted mulhoe with abalone through thin-sliced flounder
At last, the assorted mulhoe arrived! The bowl was generously filled with seafood, including abalone, sea cucumber, flounder, and thin-sliced flounder sashimi. It was satisfying just to look atㅠㅠ Everything was so fresh that it was fun picking out each different piece!
The star of the mulhoe here is the house-made seasoning. It was sweet and tangy without being overly intense, and it went beautifully with the seafood. Rather than tasting like a standard icy mulhoe broth, it had a deep savory flavor that kept me reaching for more—slurp.

There was a guide for enjoying the mulhoe, and the owner actually mixed it for us, hehe. They divided it in half, with seafood on one side and noodles on the other—sooo appetizing.

How to enjoy the included corn somyeon noodles
The mulhoe also comes with corn noodles, and once the seasoning soaked right into them, eating them with the seafood was a whole different experience! Start with the sashimi and seafood, then mix in the noodles as you go… and you may end up ordering extra noodles. They were seriously insanely delicious.

Plump king prawns and butter-grilled heads
Prawns, prawns~ prawn season is here. Since we had come all the way to Incheon, we had to have prawns, so we ordered them at lunchtime. They were large and plump, and salt-grilling them let their clean, natural flavor shine through!! And that was not the end: the prawn heads were separately grilled with butter, so we got to enjoy every last bit. Nothing went to waste~

A man who peels prawns for you = the best.

The crisp prawn heads became even more nutty and irresistible with the buttery flavor. I think I ate them all myself.. Finishing a refreshing mulhoe with savory grilled prawns was such a good combination hehe.

I also noticed lots of people coming for the raw fish rice bowl and clam kalguksu (knife-cut noodle soup) at lunch! If you are looking for mulhoe loaded with fresh seafood in Gyeyang, I recommend Muirang Mulhoerang Hyoseong Direct Branch. The house-made seasoned mulhoe paired with salt-grilled king prawns was especially satisfying! Seafood lovers may want to stop by at least once :) I'll be back again!
