Beef buffet near Geumchon Station: Minine Gogi Nakwon in Paju

Minine Gogi Nakwon (민이네 고기낙원) is an all-you-can-eat beef BBQ restaurant about a 15-minute walk from Geumchon Station. My partner wasn't busy this weekend, so we headed out to Heyri Art Village in Paju again!

After wandering around the places we wanted to see, it was time to eat, and we both felt like we were losing weight in real time... so even in summer we went to face a hot grill at a BBQ place! It's Minine Gogi Nakwon, famous as the Geumchon Station go-to for all-you-can-eat beef. It takes about 15 minutes on foot from the station, and whether you walk or drive, it's totally worth the trip!

Once you see how many kinds of meat there are, you get why it's called a "meat paradise" (gogi nakwon). A place that has held its spot for 10 years, so the refill meat probably isn't ordinary — that was my gut feeling!

As expected, meat has to go through an aging stage to taste good. Total agreement.

Minine Gogi Nakwon's 17-cut set for ₩29,900: how long can you stay?

At Minine Gogi Nakwon, you can add beef to the 12-cut base set for just ₩10,000 more. We ordered the ₩29,900 set for two!

The all-you-can-eat menu is the most famous, but some days you want something lighter! So the menu is split into regular items and the all-you-can-eat set. The time limit is 120 minutes on weekdays and 100 minutes on weekends, which is plenty to eat everything you want and still have time left over.

The seats are lined up neatly. It was spacious even for just two of us, which I liked,,

While my partner got the side dishes ready, I went to pick the meat I wanted! To lightly grease the stomach first, I took brisket (chadolbaegi), then sirloin and flat iron steak (buchaesal).

There's seriously a huge variety of meat.. ♡ Meat heaven ♡

Side dishes are self-serve ~ There was an all-purpose seasoning sauce too, but our pick was the wasabi and salt combo!

+ We added a bowl of rice. A message pops up before you touch the screen, and it says:

We run a self-service system to cut labor costs, and we invest those savings in the meat, so we can offer higher-quality meat as all-you-can-eat than other BBQ restaurants.

- That's what it says!!! (After eating, it was so true. Just because it's all-you-can-eat doesn't mean you should expect cheap meat 🙅🏻‍♀️)

Depending on the type of meat, the staff put a second grill on for us.. but we just grilled everything however, haha

Meat just before going onto the grill

Round 1: beef brisket, sirloin and flat iron steak

The number one beef at Minine Gogi Nakwon was the flat iron steak. Brisket, sirloin, flat iron, let's go -!

The number one among these was the flat iron.. Especially if you grab it the moment it's cooked and let it meet your tongue, the verdict is already in.

Not tough, soft to chew, with the best kind of thickness... After that I went back for just flat iron two or three more times, haha. Where's the best beef near Geumchon Station? Minine Gogi Nakwon!

Wasabi and salt go really well with it

Round 2: beef intestine, LA galbi (thin-cut short ribs), heart and gizzard

Next we grilled beef intestine (somakchang, "beauty full" cut), LA galbi (marinated short ribs), beef heart and gizzard.

Seriously, there's not a single disappointing thing! Mm! I gnawed on the LA galbi, which was nicely seasoned,

I'm greedy for heart. It's chewy, right ~

And the gizzard. I'm a gizzard lover.. When it's fresh it has a crunchy, almost sawing texture, and this one did!! The unusual texture made it so fun to chew.

The beef intestine, wow, the texture was great too. I usually like small intestine (gopchang) and large intestine (daechang) more than makchang because makchang feels a bit tough to me. But not here. The beef makchang was so good. I was sad to be full...

Round 3: black pork neck, chicken neck and pork skirt meat

Finally we grilled black pork neck, chicken neck and pork skirt meat (galmaegisal).

You bite into tiny bits that feel like small bones, and to me it was even softer than the flat iron! Soft but a little chewy? My partner and I both fell for the chicken neck.

But the black pork neck was even more amazing. My partner's wise words: the cut that decides whether a BBQ place is good is the neck. And this one had the word "black pork" in front, a name you can trust. We went in with high hopes, cut it into big pieces, and got ready to eat it like fist-sized chunks of meat, and my partner said it was as good as expected!

Even though I was full, it was so tasty that I kept picking at the black pork neck. Each piece is big, so I wonder if the owner actually makes a profit selling it like this.. As always, we stuffed ourselves with meat and then collapsed from a blood sugar spike on the way home, the ending, hahaha. Honestly, the meat quality here was really good!
