Trying to figure out what to eat for dinner while traveling around Yangyang, we ended up at Yeoyejeong 😊 It's a good spot to know if you're craving meat in Yangyang, so this time we went for pork belly.

When we arrived, smoke was curling gently up from the chimney, and a smell as good as pension-house barbecue drifted through the air. 🔥🥩 That was the moment it really hit me — we're in Yangyang. 🌿😊

A local meat restaurant instead of Naksansa or Sol Beach

There are plenty of good places near Naksansa or Sol Beach in Yangyang too, but if you're after somewhere that feels local rather than touristy for a relaxed meat dinner, Yeoyejeong seems like a solid choice. Parking was easy too, so it was no hassle coming as a family or in a bigger group 🚗

From the moment the charcoal came out, it looked really good. 🔥 That alone got my hopes up for the meat, and the lettuce looked like it had been grown right there — pale green and tender — so eating it with the pork belly was genuinely delicious. 🥩🥬💚

What we ordered was pork belly! 🥩 It's grilled over charcoal, so we waited eagerly for that smoky flavor — and yeah, meat really does taste best grilled over charcoal 🔥

They grilled the pork belly to a nice golden brown on the grill and cut it into bite-sized pieces for us. It was savory with real juiciness, the kind of flavor that goes well with rice or drinks 😋 And of course we added a side that's a must with grilled meat — king oyster mushroom 🍄

Slowly cooked over charcoal, it releases moisture and gets a chewy texture that works perfectly tucked between bites of pork belly. Yeoyejeong is a charcoal barbecue restaurant with a full range of beef dishes too, not just pork belly, so you can pick based on your taste. It seemed like a good fit for a family meal out, dinner with friends, or even a group work dinner 👨👩👧👦

More than anything, it felt like a local meat restaurant to stop by whenever you actually want to eat meat properly in Yangyang, rather than hunting down the same tourist-area options over and over.

Vending machine coffee and the receipt-review prize draw

After finishing off the meal, there was a vending machine on hand so you could wrap things up with a cup of coffee. ☕️😊 Grabbing a warm coffee after the meal felt like the perfect clean finish. 🤎

There was also a receipt-review event with a prize draw, and I got lucky and won a cute phone strap! 🎁📱💕 It's a small event, but getting an unexpected gift made for a happy end to the meal. 😊✨

After dinner: the crepe myrtle path to Yangyang Small Cinema

After a great meal, the crepe myrtle flower path on the way to Yangyang Small Cinema was really pretty too. 🌸🌿 Pink crepe myrtle blossoms were in full bloom along the road, so we stopped the car for a while to take photos and just take it in. 🚗💕 Good food and a pretty flower path in Yangyang made the trip feel even better. 😊✨
