Table setting with Namdareun bone-tim at Namdareun Gamjatang Suncheon Jorye branch

These days, deciding on dinner is always a toss-up between meat or stew, right? 😂 This time, while looking for something good to share with friends, I went to a Suncheon Jorye-dong restaurant!!! Namdareun Gamjatang Suncheon Jorye branch.

This place is mostly known for gamjatang (pork bone and potato stew), but this time we ordered the Namdareun bone-tim instead! Long story short, with its rich sauce, tender meat, and glass noodles, the rice went down easily 🤎

Where is Namdareun Gamjatang Suncheon Jorye branch, and is there parking?

Namdareun Gamjatang Suncheon Jorye branch has parking right in front, which was convenient. There's a huge man character sign too haha. It relocated nearby and reopened in April 2026, so it felt cleaner and more pleasant than before.

What the dining room feels like after the move

Store wall covered with visitor signatures

Walking in, the store was bigger and cleaner than expected, and one wall was full of signatures from past visitors. There was also a big TV showing a baseball game when I visited 👍 It seemed like a good spot for group meals or having a drink with dinner.

🥬 The self-serve side dish bar at Namdareun Gamjatang

On one side there was a Namdareun self-serve side dish bar. When I visited, there was kimchi, kkakdugi, sujebi (hand-torn dough soup), and more, and you could take as much as you needed. It seemed useful not just for bone-tim but also when eating gamjatang or hot pot! You can see how clean it is, right?!!

There's mix coffee good for after the meal, and candy too! There's a toothpick dispenser too, so convenient!! And there's more!!

And there's a separate sink too!! There's a mouthwash station there so you can rinse cleanly after eating!! There are also aprons, so you can eat well and leave clean 💓

Menu showing the price of the Namdareun bone-tim medium size

🍖 Medium braised pork bones for 36,000 won

The main dish we chose that day was the Namdareun bone-tim medium size for ₩36,000! We also added two bowls of rice, ordering ₩38,000 total.

Crunchy peppers with ssamjang and steamed egg side dishes

While waiting, the basic side dishes were already set — kkakdugi and kimchi, crunchy peppers with ssamjang, bean sprouts, and more, all great to pair with the bone-tim in between bites. And steamed egg too!!

And then the main dish arrived! Wow... the visual — a wide plate full of deep brown sauce with plenty of pork bone meat, plus rice cake, carrots, green onion, and generous glass noodles. Looks so delicious, right?!!

Namdareun bone-tim with rich sauce, glass noodles, and rice cake

The sauce was properly coated on the meat and noodles, a visual that made you think of rice just by looking at it!!! This is a total rice thief!

🍖 From the pork bones to the glass noodles

The glass noodles soaked up the rich bone-tim sauce so well they were delicious on their own and paired great with the meat. The meat and portion were huge too!!

Picking the meat off the pork bones

Picking the meat off the bones one by one was fun, and there was rice cake to pick out too. Since the sauce itself was so rich, it went even better paired with rice than eaten alone.

Eating bone-tim meat together with a bowl of rice
A spoonful of rice topped with meat and sauce

Putting meat on a spoonful of rice with a little sauce on top — total rice thief... as you keep eating, the sauce soaks into every grain of rice, and I was really glad we ordered the extra rice!!

When eating something with a rich sauce like bone-tim, it's nice to have something soft in between, right? Eating the fluffy steamed egg alongside it...

You can tell just from the photo how hard we were eating haha. At first the portion looked pretty big, but between picking the meat, eating the noodles, and having rice cake with rice, we cleaned it out almost completely before we knew it.

Is Namdareun Gamjatang worth it for a group in Jorye-dong, Suncheon?

If you're looking for a Suncheon Jorye-dong restaurant and want something to share with a group, even beyond gamjatang, I highly recommend the Namdareun bone-tim!! Next time I'll have to try the gamjatang or bone hot pot. That was my review of trying the bone-tim at Namdareun Gamjatang, a Suncheon Jorye-dong restaurant ❤️
